Audia Flight Amplifier Review

As a footnote to ORG, (according to one M.F.), Sony/Columbia only allows Sterling to use their master tapes.

I'm not sure what you are referring to? Think we are talking about two different things. You are talking about who handles the tapes and I'm referring to internet copyright rules in some countries. We've had an issue-and more believe it with show reports where any music might be playing-with the audio being blanked out.

Astor ,

A few,

1. What mic are you using to record the review ?
2. The tape slams everything , any CD's from the tape masters ..?
3. The complaints about thin sounding with Magico is from Q not S series
4. The Audia is only 10 watts class -A on the S5's ..
5. Yes most do find SS to be more like the recording than toobs ..

6. Dynavector 17D3 Karat MC Phono Cartridge
Same price range as test cartridge , thoughts ..?

Regards

Question 1, was answered by Tier 1 elsewhere...

Sony spaced omnis. Sony 4K cam. 8.5 feet from mics to loudspeakers.

OK, this gives me some perspective , the sound was excellent on the 1st recording , not so much on the last ... maybe from an overloaded mic ..

FYI from Amazon on the Vanessa Fernanadez LP , may or maynot be of concern:

1STAY away from the unplayable Vinyl Discs.
ByGeorge Fracchiaon April 11, 2015
Format: VinylVerified Purchase
The double vinyl 45rpm records from Grove Note are so completely warped, full od huge dimples and streaked with residue that it was impossible to cue the stylus on the records.
Absolutely disgusting that there is no quality control at Groove Note. At the premium price this 2 set vinyl commands it is disgusting....

Regards..

The Vanessa Fernandez album is absolutely flawless. I was one of the first to recommend it when it first came out.

Excellent review Myles. I also really liked your S5 review. The video format is nice.

Thanks Peter! I'm still learning the ropes err... format. Hopefully will continue to get better with practice.

Perhaps, but you struck a nice balance between enthusiasm and seriousness. Better and more polished than the S5 review and the music transitions were clean and the audio/video were very clear on my iMac. Keep them coming. Perhaps you can add a content strip at bottom marking different sections of the video so viewer can jump around or back to repeat a section.

Thanks for the feedback. Will mention it to Peter B! :)
