Are SVS speakers and systems very highly regarded in the audiophile community?

Don't worry you won't hurt my feelings. I'm wanting to upgrade and I'm not sure which way to go. I currently own an SVS 5.1 system and an SVS 7.1 system. I want a "real deal" high end audiophile system and I actually prefer a 2 channel stereo system. But I'm curious if the SVS speakers have improved over the last 13-14 years that I've owned mine. The systems I purchased were pretty highly rated and well thought of when I purchased mine. Are they still considered a great company with great speakers? Why/why not?

My SVS PC-13 has been the best sub I've ever owned and replaced a Velodyne I paid same price for, yet the SVS far outperformed the Velodyne.

I have not heard their speakers.

Personally, I'd get the electronics, use your best SVS speakers with it, then you'd have a reference for whether anything else was an upgrade to replace them.

Or, if possible, have a friend bring a set of speakers over to compare, or, you take yours to their house. Just a way to get a feel on how the SVS stack up.

I've heard their speakers about 3 years back. They were decent. It was at an audio show (Capital Audiofest). I would term them decent entry level for high end audio. Obviously selling direct to the public they are a good value for the money.
