Anyone use some type of contact cleaner on power cord blades, or IC pins

I did years ago with some silver type coating from Mapleshade, but I always made a mess applying it. From a theoretical perspective, I can understand the benefits, but does theory apply to the real world with this tweak? I can’t say it made an audio difference for me, but I did obsess on the mess I made.

The SilClear is only to be used thinly and sparingly... And, its not a cleaner. SilClear should be applied after cleaning. Using DeoxIt Red spray (D5) will remove the Silclear if you give it a good spray with a towel underneath.

yes i just use servisol on all connections , often find when i get a cable its dirty and this stuff is excellent

Nasty stuff whether an audiophile labeled version of a generic type. It is basically silver oxide powder in a gel like carrier such as silicon. The stuff migrates to other stuff you don’t want it to be on. Worse the silicon dries out over time and sounds awful. Harsh, strident and grainy. Definitely something to avoid. Use CAIG products or something else.
