I presently have the Bel Canto REf600 monos on loan for a local dealer to try out, having been fairly pleasantly surprised years ago with the Bel Canto Ice powered amps (I have four of them I'm presently using in a home cinema application. I had high hopes for the Ref600s to replace my Aesthetix Atlas. The Ref600s sound rolled off to me, recessed in the upper midrange and highs and that's on my Thiel 2.4s which if anything can sound slightly bright. I don't see much re the REf600s but YES they do alot of things well but there is NO "air" around the instruments on these amps that I can tell. VERY disappointed. I certainly don't see the premium price. Do you think the NORD product would have the positive attributes of the Bel Canto but not voiced so DARK? and I mean DARK! If you have speakers that already soft on top (I don't) you definitely would have issues with the Ref600s.
