Anybody have any experience with the BSG QOL phase shifter that Robert Harley loved?

I was thinking of getting one but would like to know if anybody on the forum has tried it.

BSG offers a 30 day trial (you just pay shipping) and they've gone direct so the price is lowered 40% from previous 4k list.

One thing that concerns me is that BSG is just a small, single product company and while there was a buzz after Robert Harley's glowing review almost two years ago, I believe that sales might have fallen quite a bit (hence, going direct and cutting the price so much). So I worry about buying one and in a year, the company is gone so the warranty can't be honored and then having to look for someone to repair such an esoteric item.

I really enjoyed the time I had with mine, couldn't fault it & recommended it a few times too. Then i went top shelf digital, thats still smarting a tad in the wallet.

Bill Hobba in Oz has one and posted a long thread there. He likes it a lot.
At $2,500 direct, its a much better deal than $4K. I think they erred in the beginning and should have made one in a cheaper case and sold it for $1500 direct and gone after the volume! Its a tweak (though an elaborate one) afterall and they should have priced it as such...more of an audiophile no brainer.

You can read my review over at What's Best Forum - Stereo Field Editor.

It's a gimick that you can't adjust. The initial experience is breath taking, but after a while, you find out the sound is not accurate and can be easily replicated by any number of plug-ins or hardware boxes much cheaper and with more flexibility

Hi Bruce, I hear you. Never heard one, but the results have been polarizing.

Yeah, I thought about that afterwards, and knowing you I knew that you would have posted the link.
So I realized that you need ten posts before you can post links and pictures.

Then I searched for it myself (to help), and it took me a while because I was not using the right words in my google search, and finally bingo! The magic words, and you gave them too in your above post, were: Stereo Field Editor. They brought me directly to your review.

* Only seven more posts to go Bruce. :) ...And I'm truly happy you're here.

I would say "a gimmick" are very harsh words. It's not claiming to do things it doesn't do, one listen tells you it achieves this & also everyone has the choice to buy it or not. It's no different from room correction or an eq really in a broad sense, I really enjoyed my time with it & then went on a truth to the recording crusade. Each to their own & I personally would say try the free trial period, it may be just what someone was looking for in their system.

But Kev, that is Bruce's opinion in his own words, no? ...And besides, "gimick" is a completely inoffensive word.

...a gimmick in my part of the world is not a slight, it means it's no good & you Bob are a gimmick.

See what I mean :)

From my best dictionary at home:

gimmick or gimick \'gim-ik\ n 1: an important feature, not immediately apparent. 2: a new and ingeniously well grounded strategy or plan. 3: a cool gadget; esp : one used discretely or incognito.

* Thank you very much so Kev.

Bob, I don't do schematics, they are the opening & the closing for ?,my preference is one offs, otherwise i get offensive..............
