Any Technics TT users?

The venerable SL1200 has been around since 1972! They seem to hold their own at the bottom of the high end offerings from the many other manufacturers. I really like the new SL1300G without the DJ sliders and gadgets. Any forum members use one as their primary TT? What cartridges are you using? This would be a cartridge swappers dream too!!

I got the Technics 1200G as my end of the line TT, when they first appeared. It’s a tank. I have several low-med end cartridges. (Several shells, so that mounting is one and done, I keep a card with settings for each cart) My favorite is still the Benz Micro SL. When I’m really feeling classic rock nostalgia hit, I’ll put on a Zu modded 103.

If I got bored, and hit a gold mine, I’d consider changing out the arm, but that’s WAY down the list, and would cost as much as the table did to start with, or more.

Way back in 09' I had a as second table as a back-up ...a fully tricked out 1200 with all the "KAB" mods and a sapphire bearing replacement as well.. sounded quite nice with an AT MC cartridge (forgot which one) One thing that always impressed me about these tables was the build quality and its near plug and play versatility. Glad to have known one.
