Ansuz Cables & Accessories

Well I picked up my Supreme power cable yesterday. Just when you think the noise floor can't be lowered any further it cratered. Again the first thing I noticed is the music plays 1-2db louder at the same level. The detail/clarity and dynamics improved significantly. Not sure if it's fully broken yet but it was used at Axpona which I couldn't attend this year due to my mother passing.

I understand that Supreme is a step up but is it worth the money or would it be better to get 2 DTC's? Just thinking a bit creative…
I still need to go for DTC Mainz. I see that you run DTC supreme feet, please give you impression from these.

Mike you bring up a great point as I thought of that too. Mike Borresen said he has learned so much from the original D-TC he was able to significantly improve on the original. That said I did not compare 2 D-TC's to a single Supreme. But at the 2018 Axpona Next Level ran a pair of D-TC power bars. Then on the last day I brought mine for a total of 3. As good as that was I think the Supreme is a bit better. That was comparing power bars not power cords.

Now that being said I did have an in home demo with the original prototype D-TC power cord when Lars was in town. What I immediately noticed was the noise floor cratered. The other thing Lars did was push the volume up and my D2.1's played a good 2-3db louder before popping. Now when both Mike and Lars came to Next Level to showcase the new Borresen speakers (back in Jan of this year) They also had prototypes of the new Supreme cables/power bar and Darkz. When they replaced the original D-TC power bar then later the power cord the first thing that was very obvious with each was the music played a good 1-2db louder at the same level then I also noticed the noise floor dropping even more. The original D-TC did not do that. They then replaced all the interconnects and the music didn't play louder but the noise floor did drop with each change. They didn't have the speaker cables as they were not completed yet. I did borrow the power cable overnight and heard the same improvements in my system. FWIW the Supreme power cord is twice as heavy compared to the original D-TC.

As far as the Darkz I didn't really hear a difference. I guess I was expecting a much bigger change like all the cables and power bar. As far as my 03's with the Supreme Darkz they are built in between the base and speaker. To cant even see them. What I can say is when Next Level got the first pairs of 01/02 and 03's I helped unbox them and set them up. I recall thinking to myself no way am I trading my D3.1's for these. They had no hours on them. Then after the new Borresen speakers were broken in several week later they didn't sound anything like when they no hrs on them. It was when I returned the power I made the decision to upgrade my power cord and trade my speakers for the 03's. When they arrived Tyler delivered them to my home and set them up. Took about 20 mins and when we fired them up they were just a hair better than my D3.1's which had a few thousand hours on them. The only thing both Tyler and I could think of was the Supreme feet. The Supreme Darkz are much lighter than the D-TC. They are titanium with titanium bearings. I may borrow the new Darkz to demo in my home in time but not now.
 
An awesome update thanks George.

I am interested in the release of the new Supreme Darkz. I have the D.TC Darkz under just about everything; under the equipment rack, under the speakers, under the Mainz distributor and the electronics and I ponder just what the Supreme quality level will bring to the party.

New Ansuz X 2M Din5 to Din5. Have it connected between between my SuperNait 2 and the Naim ND5XS2. It is replacing the stock cable. Plan to audition for a few weeks to give some burn in and evaluate.

Wow. I was not aware that Ansuz had DIN5 terminated cables in its line up.

Do you know if this is new to the range?

I look forward to reading your thoughts / comparison between the stock NAIM cable which has been specifically designed to interconnect NAIM products and the Ansuz Acoustics X-series.

Yes. They are brand new to the Ansuz lineup. Michael and Lars brought them to the Axpona Show a few weeks ago. They will have X, A2 and D2 2M Din5 to Din5 cables. 750, 3750 and 15,900 respectively in USD. Thinking about a Din5 to RCA. [emoji848]

Its great Ansuz has decided to address the DIN terminated market - though I privately wonder how big the market really is? The lads at Ansuz seem to like the NAIM gear. :)
 
Spotted at the Munich 2019 show are four new levels of Darkz Ti composite resonance control devices.

By one account i've heard, but not myself tried, the 2nd level in the range surpasses the existing D.TC product.

I hope to audition myself in the near future.

Borresen is not at Munich High End or HiFi Deluxe.

Raidho had a nice showing. The new speaker designed by the Gamut designer was very good.

I think they did a great job with their room,
and maybe it's smart of them to be downstairs. Yesterday I listened to both 01 and 05 speakers and they were swapping the Mainz cable from the wall from A2, then DTC and then Supreme. Its almost unbelievable to hear the difference that freaking cable makes. When cost is not an object, this is where you want to go!!! The rest of us might need to think a bit... But still, what a cable!!

I've heard the Børresen speakers a few times now, and even though this is a show it was the best so far. I could feel the attraction and the 01 wanting to go home with me... 😀
