Ansuz Cables & Accessories

Thank You. It 'an important commitment. You say you do not depreciate in case of resale?

All brand new audio products including cables depreciate in price Fabio. If you are concerned that the cables might not be right for you then request a home demo from your local dealer - prior to committing to a purchase.

I explained myself badly. In the sense that it can affect only 1m and everyone goes on further measures?

Does anyone have any experience with the Ansuz Mainz?

I have one. Works great. Plug your preamp into the connector that's marked "white" and the other sources into the other slots. Using my noise level meter, the common grounding alone from the Mainz8 lowered the line noise dramatically.

Lars Kristensen and Michael Borresen the founders of Raidho and Ansuz would say that the Mainz D8 is one of their most significant accomplishments.

In one of my systems I use two in series. I demoed this and more impressed with the results of the two together. As Mike points out it dramatically lowers the noise floor. It uses a proprietary star grounding technology.

Hi Guys,

Do you plug your amps into the Mainz D8 and if so, do you find that it limits current/dynamics at all? I own the Audience AR6-TSS and plug all my components into it. It also uses star grounding. I find that it dramatically reduces the noise floor and removes a brightness/edginess from the treble that was previously compromising my system. I am extremely pleased with these results. However, the one drawback is that it seems to have reduced dynamics on my amplifiers to a degree. So I'm wondering if the Mainz D8 would be a good solution for my amps, while keeping the AR6-TSS for my K-01 and 520. Or do you think all my components would just sound better plugged into a Mainz D8? Any thoughts?

Thanks so much!!
Ken

Ken, I've metered the amperage going to the Mainz D8 running the Soulution 520/501's/541 and during normal music passages it draws less than 4 amps. During the most demanding musical passages I've never seen it draw more than 7 amps of power.

You may remember that the Soulution amps have massive capacitance built into them. Here's a quote from the 501 brochure "The high-precision idle current management ensures optimal operating conditions, storage capacitors with 47’000 microfarads allow for a nearly infinite impulse response. Atotal of six power supplies feed each 501 mono-amplifier"

I believe the MainzD8 can accommodate at least 15 amps of continuous draw. When I was back in Chicago auditioning the Soulution 701's mono blocks against the 725, I saw the 701's peak out at 17 amps of draw under the most extreme and demanding musical passages. The 701's at that time were plugged into the back of the Mainz D8 and I didn't sense any compression of dynamics.

If you can find a way to home audition the Mainz you could see if it works for you.

Thanks Le Roy!

It does not appear that there is any current limitation with the Mainz D8 from what you described. I believe they say the same on the Ansuz website. One nice thing about the Audience AR6-TSS is that it has surge protection. I guess you are getting that with your Torus as the Mainz D8 does not appear to have it. I would have to get something like a Ditek whole house surge protector if I decided on the Mainz D8. But it would probably be a good idea to have that anyway. I'll have to see if I can borrow a Mainz D8 for an audition to see how it stacks up compared to the Audience.

All the best,
Ken

Hi AS,

Probably this is my first post here :)
I recently got the D8 from local dealer, and i must say it has synergy with my current ansuz power cord loom.

Previously i used small IS torus to feed my sources and pre, and another line to feed my power ( directly to the wall) to feed my raidho D1. With the mainz D8 in place, i dump everything to the box, and i got nothing in my 2nd line at the moment. I would say, i like the synergy compare to my previous setup. Though i kinda feel i may lost the finesse certain tones compare to previous, but it brought up the ansuz characteristics into higher level. I guess if you like ansuz character, this is something that you shouldn't be missed.

Hi Jesse and welcome to AS.

For sure a very nice place.

My next upgrade will be the D8, but it might takes some months yet.

Can anyone tell me if the D8 use the darkz for footers?
Looks like there is maybe 1 "ring" underneath it.
The best must of course be to put the Diamond darkz under it. :)
But maybe I for the start can live with just the D8 as it is?

Buch, yes the Mainz D8 is designed to have the darkz footers underneath. Once your system is set and contemplate not more changes it is nice to add. Having the darkz footers underneath can present cable management problems if you think you will be adding / subtracting power cords. It is a balancing act with the weight of the PC's on the back of the Mainz D8 and the footers underneath. It is a nice final tweak.

Le Roy, When you use two in series, do you use a ground to connect them? If so, what are you using for ground wire. It looks like it takes some kind of termination. Lastly, Are you grounding the preamp? The diagrams in the box show both grounds when using two Mainz8s.

Bruce, I have a makeshift grounding connection between the two Mainz D8 units. Ansuz makes a grounding connector for the two Mainz D8 and I will be acquiring this with my next order for misc items.

I have not, as of yet, grounded the preamp. I will be back to Chicago for the season starting in late May. The 700 series system and second Mainz D8 was installed by David's guys in early February and I've only been back twice to hear it. I'm looking forward to summer!

Hi Le Roy,

How are things coming along with your new Austin system? Have you started the break-in process for the 520 and the D3's?

Best,
Ken

Hi Ken, thanks for asking. I've been running the system 24/7 all this week trying to hasten the break in process. So after tonite I will be rolling over 100 hours on the Soulution 520 and the D3's. I think by now the 520 is well on its way. The D3's for the first couple of days seemed like the bass was understated in my 11.5 x 16 listening room. The woofers seem very tight on bass heavy tracks. Maybe that will change as things run in.

The D3 has same tweeter as the D2's I formerly had in the same room, but as of now the treble seems a bit brighter at this stage.

But one thing I've learned after breaking in two pairs of Raidhos is that the jury doesn't really come back for the first 300-400 hours or maybe more.

I have an Ansuz Diamond PC leading into the Mainz D8 and a Diamond PC leading to the preamp. Everything else is Ansuz Ceramic loom here in Austin. I also have one Sparkz Tesla coil pluged into the wall and two more plugged into the back of the Mainz

But I'm loving what I'm hearing so far. I know it will only get better. I'm so glad that I finally listened to the counsel of going to the Soulution separates with Raidho loudspeakers. They are some match. :love6:
