Sorry I couldn't find a thread I wanted to put this in. Mike started one but I couldn't find it.
Initially my oldest daughter who is now 40, nor my grandkids, now 20 and 12 were all that interested in stereo. Nor, my other kids. I have a daughter with special needs who has always been into music but she prefers headphones and her tablet. She also has an Alexa.
Sorry again, this may be long. So my daughter who is 40 wanted my LP collection when I die. I wanted to sell it or give it to someone who really was into it. She says she was always with me when I shopped etc. and it made her think of me. I'm not close to dying BTW. Selling them sort of hurt her feelings so I decided to keep them.
Rewind a couple years I gave my grandson a turntable, HEOS and power speakers. He didn't have much room in his room. He is more into gaming and working on cars now. So my daughter wanted to start using his turntable and showing some real interest. So I found her a good deal on a set of Kef R3, she bought a Dayton Audio HTA200, not wanting to spend much money. It drives the speakers surprisingly well. Then I eventually found her a TEchnics vintage DD TT. She is actually browsing flea markets and thrifts for LP like I used to and buying new LP's. I let her take a few from my collection in advance. Maybe it just takes getting someone in the right direction
My granddaughter who is 12 is on Spotify, it told her at the end of the year her listening habits were those of someone in their 60's, LOL She has some CD's that were given to her. They were trying to get a portable CDP to connect to a Bluetooth speaker. I have an Emotiva CDP I plan to give her, a Yamaha stereo receiver lined up and an old set of AR bookshelf speakers. This isn't in her room yet but I'm getting it together. We will see were this goes. I don't mean to brag but she is really smart, like straight A's. Maybe that's why she likes older music, LOL
