Hi All,
Ive recently acquired the new Wilson Benesch ACT Evo 1 speakers and am currently driving them with the Gryphon Diablo.
Its still early days and the speakers haven't even got 50 hours on them yet but they're thoroughly enjoyable. Sometimes my Mrs and I sit down to listen and just look at each other and smile. Shes even told me what a good idea getting the speakers were :disbelief:
I was just hoping to hear of people experiences using WB speakers with different amps. I see the new ACT Evo 1 speakers were matched with CH Precision components at X-Fi so im looking forward to any feedback on that combo.

Hi,
You have an amazing speaker that I would love to hear (I wonder if you reside in the US). I own a pair of WB Vector floorstanders. Sound wonderful with an Accuphase E-450 integrated and Burmester 956 amp.
I wonder if you had a chance to compare the ACT Evo-1 with the Vectors or other Wilson Benesch floorstanding speakers.

Hi Anshul,
Im in Australia so it'll be a long trip to hear them but your more than welcome :D
Congrats on the Vector as they are a great speaker. `I was going to go Vector actually but my listening space changed (larger) so I went for the Evo.
No chance to compare unfortunately as where I live there are no retailers.

bob, I have the Trinity's & Torus Generators. Have tried many amps with them & the only amp that failed miserably in my system was the Vitus RS 100. Have tried many ss & tube amps with the Soulution 520 preamp up front & a very good combo that I am using at the mo is the Ayon Epsilon mono amps

Thanks for that feedback Bzr
I was actually thinking of trying out Vitus as my next amp, either ri-100 or the sia-025.
After I get a torus though. Still waiting for one to pop up secondhand [emoji6]

Congratulations on getting the ACT One Evolutions! I just ordered a new pair of the Wilson Benesch Vertex monitors but it will be some time before I receive them. The WB Geometry series speakers demonstrate superb engineering resulting in their exceptional transparency, allowing you to hear absolutely everything in a given recording along with the subtleties of the gear driving them. As such they are demanding of the quality of their supporting gear, but when properly driven are absolutely captivating in their realism! They disappear into the soundstage like very few other speakers are able to, and have a natural tonality and room presence that is absolutely stunning. I will be feeding mine with a Luxman C-900u preamp driving a Rowland 625 power amp.

Bob,
I think pretty much any move from the Gryphon Diablo would be a sideways move. You already have one of the finest amplifiers on the planet!

Anshul, you speak the truth very wisely. I have heard this amp on more than one occasion & I totally agree, it is exemplary. If I was to go to Vitus I would only try the class A gear, but, I would not be in a hurry to dismiss 'The Gryphon".

Thanks Bill!
Congrats on your incoming Vertex speakers. And some very nice amplification to match.

Agreed Bzr. Im very happy with the Diablo. Im in no way dissing the Gryphon and I have no immediate plans to move on.
Of course im interested in what other Amps can offer and in the not so distant future our house will have another listening room which will mean a second system.
The fun continues
