I have a separate room to experiment with my audio hobby. Created a full tube amplification system. DAC to power amp. It is amazing how a simple 300b SET amp can drive a pair of REVEL F328be speakers to a very nice volume. Anybody else like “experimenting”? Ah the joys of being retired.

I have never had any experience with a 300b SET type amp so I didn’t want to invest a lot of money. I have read for years on the virtues and sound quality of these amps. I searched EBay until I found one with amazing build quality and came with Psvane 300b tubes at a reasonable price. Typical chifi but I took a chance. I was not prepared for the sound quality and sound character and the build quality was better than the pictures.
The only word I can describe the character is “ethereal”. Pretty amazing for such old technology.
