Been using AI to identify recording provenance. For example, just put on the Rhino reissue of Tracy Chapman’s debut album and instantly knew this was digitally recorded, and we’re talking 80’s digital recording. Eek! But to confirm, I turned to my favorite AI (Grok3) and yup, it confirmed the nasty 80’s digital sounds. Funny how AI tried to sugar coat it: “The album was digitally recorded and mixed at Powertrax by Kevin W. Smith, ensuring high fidelity and clarity.” Ah, ok….said no one ever of 80’s digital.

Can’t even imagine how much better this would have sounded recorded to tape originally.

Very cool Mike. Is this AI driven program available to the general public?
