Hey all. First ever post on a forum. There seems to be certain rules etc so forgive me if I get something wrong.
I'm looking to put a Dali system together. Never heard the Euphonia range but am thinking of starting with the RS 3s. I love the look but cannot find a place in Brisbane to listen to them.
Does this make me an idiot or do you guys recommend them?

fishboy, first of all welcome to the Shark Tank! No need to worry about many formal rules here, it's a pretty friendly place. Just be respectful of others and you should do fine. I haven't heard the Euphonia range myself, but DALI makes fine quality products throughout their line. They are much more popular in Europe than in the US, probably due to pricing and distribution differences. However the Epicon line are their best although they are expensive. The Rubicon line is much more reasonably priced and uses much of the Epicon's technology. If those are within your budget they're the ones I'd suggest evaluating if you have the opportunity. Good listening!

I totally agree!

Hi Fishboy, welcome to AS! :) .

If you're familiar with Dali's house sound & come across a good deal, they could be worth a punt as atleast you could move them on without taking a bath if they don't work out. Though my preference is always to trust your ears as Jock said & go out and audition as many speakers as you can. I live in Melbourne. Up there in Brissy you should check out Caxton Audio, who of most interest to this audiophile carry Vandersteen. Vandy offer great value and sound, even from their entry level speakers. Living Sound & Vision carry brands like Dynaudio and Sonus Faber, as well as some good amps like Marantz & Electrocompaniet. Trimera Audio carry some awesome brands like Focal, Kef, Martin Logan, B&W & Wilson. They also have some good amps & cables. Finally, you could drop into Lenehan Audio. Not a store as such, you buy direct from Mike who is a very knowledgeable guy who builds some of the best locally designed & built speakers. His crossovers are legendary. He is always happy to dem any of his gear. Best of all, because he has low overheads, his speakers are remarkably good value. Plenty of scuttlebutt on SNA forum if you want to read some commentary from end users. Good luck with your auditioning! :audiophile:

Cheers,
Bodhi.
