Any time I talk to Mike I usually blow my entire allowance for the next two weeks.

He tells me I would love Neil Young Massey Hall 1971 (sorry to quote you Mike). So people what's your experience of 180 vs 200 gram. Unfortunately a mint 120 gm original pressing is not in my budget today.

ps the 200 is more than the double 30 bucks the 180 costs.

200g, don't .
It Changes your VTA
And 180g or 200g only benefit is not easy to warp
My 2 Dominican cents
:)

The one I bought is: AREP 43328(Acoustic Sounds Product #)

I own the 43328 (180 gram advertised) version the same one Mike mentions above......it sure feels more like a 200 gram record when you handle it, checked and its actually the 204/208 gram version LOL! regardless it sounds nice......

does the 180 version weigh 200 gms or did you just kind of luck out and get 200 but says 180?

180gm, 200gm or even plain old 120gm. If they are the same mastering/plating they will sound exactly the same.
The vinyl cutter is the same depth regardless of the weight of the vinyl.

All 180/200gm vinyl does is change your SRA/vta and be more susceptible to dishing. I hate 180gm vinyl as it is bs marketing.

I bought my 180 version copy back when it was first released and not sure if all the 180's are indeed 200's or just a few......perhaps a screw up at the plant! As mentioned above my 180 version is indeed a 200 version as far as weight goes......Agree about the marketing :)
