Only problem with that list is, that except for Jose James, they are all gone. Jazz is alive and well.

There's nothing wrong with this list of classic recordings being made available to celebrate Record Day:

"Record Store Day, the internationally celebrated day of vinyl records dedicated to supporting local independent stores, takes place on April 13. This year’s extensive list of exclusive releases, special and limited editions and reissues include a number of jazz and blues records worth highlighting."

BTW, mahalo for the list of people I've never heard of. ;-)

No of course not. I'm a big fan of most of those artists. I just think it must be hard for i.e. the Cowley or Witmer trio to compete with this endless stream of ''newly disscoreved and remastered'' classic albums of the great masters.
To keep the music alive we have to actively support the living jazz musicians as well.
