The Westminster , Canterbury and Kensington's are with Alnico drivers so they share the same sonic signature.

Have to say, after a few texts with Mike today, he has piqued my curiosity on the Tannoys...

'Tannoy' was trademarked as a name in 1928, and was located in London until 1975, when it relocated to Coatbridge, Scotland, where it still resides.

Its the first speaker that my wife actually "liked", based on looks of course. She never liked the R2D2 looking speakers, B&W 800's, Wilson, Vapor Nimbus,

My friend from England said "Tannoy" is a synonym for speakers. He said, "if someone is throwing a party and needs a sound system, they will call a mate and say 'hey old chap, you have a tannoy?'"

My wife likes the looks of Tannoy's too. Says they remind her of beautiful furniture.

The same ones !!! I liked how them sound but to control that boomy bass was a nightmare , I surrended finally.
Think It was among my most happy audiophile moments ever , when them arrived and when them go .

Please understand them were terrific speakers but my room wasn´t good for that gents

I feel the same way. Quality craftsmanship, years of experience and tradition. Maybe the hardest thing about Tannoy is being able to hear them. Of course that could be said for most any audio gear these days.
