+1! A friend of mine swears by his TAD D600 as being the most tubey player he has ever heard. Great to see a USB port on the back, their D600 doesn't have that. I would have loved to see an ethernet port as well to stream direct to DAC. From wizard's blog, it looks like it's part of TAD's Evolution series, so somewhat more affordable!

    Re: Tad d1000 & da1000

I read that when playing 24/192 files, the DA1000 downsample them to 24/96 !! Why does it do this !!? Isn't this a "limiting" factor ?

Also, I will be interested to know how 16/44 files sounds. Indeed, I do not want a DAC that is good only with 24 files.

    Re: Tad d1000 & da1000

    Hallo,

I will buy the TAD DA1000 or the D1000: I have a Ayon cd3s cd player but with a D1000 I can sell my Ayon and use the TAD with the "transporter".

I go receive a Synology NAS for the "liquid" music. that's fine but i will a cd player in my system!

TAD play all format, high rez . and DSD too.

the DA1000 can be used as premapli too. the D1000 dont have this "plus".

    I have a Passlabs system: Xa100.8 and Xp20, wilson Sasha2 speaker....

What is your opinion over the TAD?

    Thank you

    Re: Tad d1000 & da1000

    hi guys,

    I go test in my system the TAD D1000. (Pass Xa100.8 - Xp20 - cd player Ayon CD3s - Wilson Sasha2)

I love have a cd player in my system. The choice for the TAD D1000 is do in "preview" over sell of the cd Ayon CD3s..so I have a cd player ....

I can to stay with my Ayon CD3s and go with the TAD DA1000 ("only DAC" -> plus preampli..)

Other can be a Esoteric K03x
    or
    Linn Klimax DSM.

    Anyone can me help?

    Re: Tad d1000 & da1000

Since I need a CD player AND a good DAC, I am considering the ESOTERIC K-01x but also the EMM LAB XDS-1, the VITUS SCD-025 & the TAD D-1000.

anyone know how they compare ( as CD player but ALSO as USB DAC) ? do they really have different sound signature ?

    thanks a lot
