T+A MP3000HV reaches MK2 status

These look wonderful. My only issue is no SACD. At one point I thought it might be nice to get the MP 8 to have the entire Series 8 collection. However I will never buy a spinner with no SACD. I even wrote T+A and inquired if they might be planning a SACD version. Unfortunately they said no :(.... I was impressed that they did write back though!

T+A has been getting a lot of really good reviews lately. Very glad to see it, and very worthy!
 
Randy, you’re right. The SACD format is hanging on. I will tell you, 90% of all customers I talk to wanting a spinner, insist on SACD. MP3100HV is a great unit for that. There are competitor units as well. But a mega buck CD player only is a tough sell unless the customer is looking in the $2-4K range.
 
Yup, I would not buy one without it. I don't worry about it any more though since I simply rip my disks now. I have my Oppo in the rack, but it is not hooked up to the McIntosh. If I get a new SACD I will spin it in the Oppo and it gets pulled across the network to rip and then back across the network copied to the server :).

I guess if some one was hard core CD listener and wanted a top notch machine it would be easier, but that has got to be few and far between for sure.
 
Psst - OPPO CD player, use HMDI out to Bryston BDA-3 HDMI input for SACD. [emoji6]
