Status of T+A Linux native DSD support for DSD512
FYI. For those who own T+A devices but desiring to use a non-Windows source (e.g. Lumin U1, Roon Nucleus, ROCK) to play DSD512, this is the official status from T+A:

This new firmware exists - but only in experimental form and we feel that it is currently not mature enough to be released to the public.Peter Lie

I think the only reliable way at the moment to upsample to DSD512 for the T&A DAC 8 is using a Windows based server.

Re: Status of T+A Linux native DSD support for DSD512
I am using the T+A in a Windows environment. I upsample/convert everything to DSD512 with HQP. It sounds amazing. I decided to go to a Windows machine instead of Mac or Linux so that I could do dsd512. No regrets here.

I would not be able to help you. I considered for a brief moment to build a machine but quickly decided to buy a ready to go gaming machine from Falcon Northwest.
I suggest that you visit computer audiophile forum and post your question there. Someone there should be able to assist you. They have several threads about computer configurations for HQP.

Hey Nicoff... I think your settings are about the same as mine. No performance issues for me either.... and your machine is a bit more powerful then mine (my Falcon is a few years older). I also recommend only SSD drives... I stored all my music on internal SSD drives. 512/48 sounds fantastic (24.6 Mhz).

Re: Status of T+A Linux native DSD support for DSD512
Randy, I copied your settings!! I experimented changing the filters but came back to this set up. My computer cannot do the more intensive filters (the non 2s versions) without hiccups. Only much powerful machines can do that without issues. But I am very happy with the filters and set up.

Lol... I thought they looked familiar . Yea, I noticed on mine also that the non 2s version would make it stutter a bit. I cannot even imagine the power it would take to run these without stutter. I know mine, being a few years old is not powerful enough. But yours being brand new I thought might be. I guess it must take an insane build to do that ....

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
