Zu Omen Def Mk II MiniDSP experiment....
I had treated my room and produced an issue I didnt have before. With treatments, vocals have dramatically lower volume than the rest of the track. I resolved it by reducing the treatments, but I was curious as to what happened there.
So I bought a measuring mic, and since I was on the site anyway, picked up a MiniDSP Nanodigi to play around with.
The Nanodigi is on its way. I did the measurements and here are the results from 7 different mic positions of the Zu Omen Defs in my partially treated room. Marked in yellow is what looks like an issue I'll probably try to address with the MiniDSP.
Here is the speaker's frequency response from Zu.
The equipment didnt cost a lot, so it'll be fun to try out. Will post results if there is any interest.

Re: Zu Omen Def Mk II MiniDSP experiment....
What type treatments? Panels are not typically full frequency, thinner will reduce highs and move down frequency with thickness. That's why most bass traps are thick.
I think it would be odd for treatments just to reduce vocals only. I could see the mids where vocals are but the highs would be effected as well.
Also, treatments eliminate reflections and should make your sound more clear. I may be wrong but to my understanding treatments shouldn't actually reduce frequencies.Aurender ACS10 w/Audioquest Diamond USB, Esoteric N05xd
