Proper setup and placement are critical

Saw this photo of a guy in Europe (Poland) complaining about the sound. He was convinced it was the spikes and ordered some Harmonix TU-210ZX Million Maestro feet (1800 euro for 2 pc).

When I see these pictures, I just shake my head. You almost don’t know where to start.

Someone suggested he change the fuse in his amp. Ok, that was funny.

    Hello Mike,

Can you share some tips in system setup in your Stereo with Mike channel? I would like to hear how you get the best sounds from the speakers placement for the brand you carry, what kind of acoustical treatment we should invest in. Also, when your crew install equipment for your clients, what problems they usually see in the customers' listening room as we don't have a dedicated listening room with proper treatment like the dealers.
    Thank you!
    Jim

Mike - I'm disappointed an expert such as yourself missed the real problem. It is clearly the two worlds smallest prints on the wall next to the speaker.

For sure Jim. The first tip is working with a dealer like myself who will be sure it’s the right speaker for your room and any limitations you might have. Too many dealers are like “yeah, yeah, yeah, get the bigger speaker!” When they know it will overload the room.

Acoustical treatment will depend on the living environment and what’s tolerable. If professional diffusers and absorption panels are too ugly, we have other, more natural suggestions like silk plants and the like.

We try to ask a lot of questions up front to mitigate the installation challenges. It’s usually something like - not enough outlets, heavy use of glass in the room or the client only having wifi for their new streamer, when a wired connection is required.
