Re: Piega Speakers ! Any Input ?
Piega was brought in at one time by Steve Davis at Hi Fi Farm. Don't think anyone picked them up after. It's been a decade since Imheard a Piega speaker.

Sensitive speakers, 4 ohms is too low for my taste in amps.

Re: Piega Speakers ! Any Input ?
After Steve Davis imported Piega speakers into the US, Audiophile Systems Ltd. in Indianapolis took over distribution of the line. They also handled Nottingham Analogue tables as well as several other high end lines, but they went under several years ago. I previously owned a couple of models of Piega speakers, their P5 Ltd and then the C10 Ltd. Their 'coaxial ribbon' midrange/tweeter (which is actually planar magnetic and not a true ribbon design) is quite unique and presents a very convincing recreation of the soundstage. The speakers are of the ultra revealing type, and are somewhat demanding of quality electronics driving them in order to avoid an overly analytical presentation. When properly driven they can sound exceptional, with much of the speed and transparency of planar speakers along with nicely extended bass response in their top models.

Re: Piega Speakers ! Any Input ?
I heard the 60.2 (which is the 80.2's little brother) last friday.
It surprised me positively. It was better than Magico S5 which I also listened to in the same room and with the same music.
The Piega's had a bigger soundstage.

Re: Piega Speakers ! Any Input ?
PacMan - your reaction doesn't surprise me. Piega's proprietary coaxial midrange/tweeter 'ribbon' launches the signal in a phase coherent manner that excels in reproduction of an eerily natural soundstage. What electronics were being used to drive them for the demo?

Re: Piega Speakers ! Any Input ?
I have not seen them in the Zurich show since 2010. Hopefully they will be in Montreux this October (Swiss brand only show).

Re: Piega Speakers ! Any Input ?
I just listened to a pair here in Japan. The Piega 5.2. I was quite impressed for being a small speaker. Soundstage was open and revealing. Bass a little shy, but really I am in the market for a bookshelf speaker anyway. Did not care for the metal grill seeing it may damage easily. I removed it and had a bit trouble putting it back on. Other than that I really liked them.

Re: Piega Speakers ! Any Input ?
Heard a set of Piega's many years ago that I liked. I forgot the model number though...
Speaking of the T&F 'Art' monitors. Yep, those are awesome little speakers! I'm hoping a set will arrive to my abode in roughly 1 months time.
