The subwoofer’s look like a well executed design as well.

All I can say after looking at at the measurements is - wow !

This certainly is a very well engineered speaker at a very attractive price.

I wonder how they compare with other speakers in their price.

    Those do look nice.

Mike - are these the brand speakers as one of the speakers you mentioned you liked in our latest video interview?

I can get a fair price on a pair but they'd be replacing my beethovens and are quite expensive for a second system. While I thought they sounded good the times I got to hear them I struggle to think they can replace my kef blades.

What do you like better about the KEF blades?

I haven't gotten the s7t home yet, The demos would suggest the s7t will be better at lower volume nearfield listening sitting in the sweet spot. I'm really impressed with the blades and expect the s7t will replace my 18 year old beethovens, but honestly I just really want to try them.

Yup - I totally understand that feeling.

Doesn't matter what we read, measurements or are told. Often times we just want to hear them in our own system/room and let our own ear tell us about the gear. That's what makes this hobby so much fun!

That review by Larson is one of the best I've ever read. If I were to consider going back to box speakers from Maggies, these would certainly be must-auditions, along with Magico and Fyne.

If by 2nd system you mean smaller room, they'd probably do well. They are underdamped and extended at LF, so closer proximity to front wall/smaller room should load/extend the bass without boom. They lean toward neutral/inoffensive (smooth on/off axis) so you'd probably like them, given you like the Blades. Local friend is a dealer so I've heard them a bit outside show conditions.

    cheers

One of my favorite rooms at the Capital Audio Fest featured the Perlisten's. If I were in the market for new speakers, these would be near the top of my list, especially when considering bang for the buck.

What did you like about them? They seem to be getting lots of rave reviews.

I've only heard them once. I went to a local dealer that had them when the Stereophile review came out.
It's possible I didn't hear them at their best due to lack of break-in or because they were in the dealer's treated room.
My very general impression after hearing them in that room was that they sounded very lean. This surprised me because the Stereophile review made special mention of the bass quantity and quality.

    Interesting.

From a consumer point of view I always wonder when a store doesn't burn its gear and such.

From a store point of view I can imagine with so much gear coming in and out it's a full time job just trying to keep it all burned in and at its best.

My impression was a very focused, layered midrange with ample and detailed bass, more detailed than full and exceptional at acoustic guitar, but in comparison to the blades they sounded a bit small. The mids and bass weren’t as integrated while the highs were a bit more pronounced. Being kind of a detail junkie I like the s7t, but doubt they would be a forward move from the blades, closer to the salon2 that to be fair I haven’t had since 2019.
