Mike - are these the brand speakers as one of the speakers you mentioned you liked in our latest video interview?"We are all billionaires because of the huge piles sweet dough rolling in from our participation in the ongoing campaign to suck your collective brains through a stirrer-straw." - PTA Editorial Staff

Re: Perlisten, new kid on the block .......
I can get a fair price on a pair but they'd be replacing my beethovens and are quite expensive for a second system. While I thought they sounded good the times I got to hear them I struggle to think they can replace my kef blades.

Re: Perlisten, new kid on the block .......
I haven't gotten the s7t home yet, The demos would suggest the s7t will be better at lower volume nearfield listening sitting in the sweet spot. I'm really impressed with the blades and expect the s7t will replace my 18 year old beethovens, but honestly I just really want to try them.

Re: Perlisten, new kid on the block .......
If by 2nd system you mean smaller room, they'd probably do well. They are underdamped and extended at LF, so closer proximity to front wall/smaller room should load/extend the bass without boom. They lean toward neutral/inoffensive (smooth on/off axis) so you'd probably like them, given you like the Blades. Local friend is a dealer so I've heard them a bit outside show conditions.
cheers
AJ

Re: Perlisten, new kid on the block .......
One of my favorite rooms at the Capital Audio Fest featured the Perlisten's. If I were in the market for new speakers, these would be near the top of my list, especially when considering bang for the buck.

Re: Perlisten, new kid on the block .......
I've only heard them once. I went to a local dealer that had them when the Stereophile review came out.
It's possible I didn't hear them at their best due to lack of break-in or because they were in the dealer's treated room.
My very general impression after hearing them in that room was that they sounded very lean. This surprised me because the Stereophile review made special mention of the bass quantity and quality.Christian

Re: Perlisten, new kid on the block .......
My impression was a very focused, layered midrange with ample and detailed bass, more detailed than full and exceptional at acoustic guitar, but in comparison to the blades they sounded a bit small. The mids and bass weren’t as integrated while the highs were a bit more pronounced. Being kind of a detail junkie I like the s7t, but doubt they would be a forward move from the blades, closer to the salon2 that to be fair I haven’t had since 2019.
