Cornwall 4 speakers - 6 feet apart to far?
I am trying to plan ahead for ordering Cornwall 4 speakers. Would setting them 6 feet apart be to much? I think I would be listening to them about 10 feet away (my couch). Also, since these are directional speakers... assuming the couch (normal 3 person size) is in the middle of the speakers being 6 feet apart, would a chair on the side of the couch be out of the projected soundstage of the speakers?

6 feet apart is no problem with them. In my experience these speakers tend to have a wider sweet spot than other speaker but will have les exact pin pointing on sound staging.
So if you want a larger "you are there at a live concert" feeling, they will be great speaker.
You will need to play with toe in to find what is perfect for you, and also know they take a LONG time to burn in before they sound great. I left them on 24x7 until about 400 hours before they really opened up."We are all billionaires because of the huge piles sweet dough rolling in from our participation in the ongoing campaign to suck your collective brains through a stirrer-straw." - PTA Editorial Staff

Re: Cornwall 4 speakers - 6 feet apart to far?
The Cornwall IV is a front ported speaker ( CWs always has been, as far as I know ), designed to have greater versatility with room set up, corner or against a wall ( not necessarily out in the open back then, although it works ). The owners I speak to all like them close ( closer ) to the rear wall, and a few even in / near corners. Klipsch recommends CWIVs be 6 feet apart minimum. But it all depends on your room. Put some furniture sliders under them ( you will thank me later) and move them around until you like the sound.

6ft will be fine, mine are about 6.5 feet apart and at a 18 degree angle, couch is 7.5 feet away. Not sure of how your listening room is set up acoustically, but playing with their placement is all part of the fun. Great speakers, congrats and enjoy!

Re: Cornwall 4 speakers - 6 feet apart to far?
the CWIVs I owned were spread apart at least 6'. IIRC, the bass was also fuller and better integrated being closer to the wall than out into the room.
