Can't Use spade connector on Shunyata Venom cables
Hi all--newbie here on forum. Got a sweet deal on some Shunyata Venom speaker cables, but can't connect to (Denon) receiver with the spade connects--uses banana or bare wire only. Have received conflicting advice on adapters (introduces noise to the chain?); a friend suggested just stripping spades off and going bare wire.... Thoughts?

Re: Can't Use spade connector on Shunyata Venom cables
I have a similar issue where my cable spades have too narrow of an opening and do not fit my amp or speakers. I am using some bananas, not the cheapest ones. I guess it depends on your gears and your ears if you hear anything different.

Re: Can't Use spade connector on Shunyata Venom cables
Posts on Denon receiver won't fit spades--have shrouds around them to prevent adjacent cables from interference, and won't unscrew off ends. So banana or bare wire only options, and don't want to (unless I have to?) strip spades off the Shunyatas.

Cardas CAB spade-to-banana adapters might work. I used them for the Mangepan speakers

if you're worried about keeping the integrity of your wire go the adapter route otherwise 'strip baby' , your ears will never know !

Find yourself some good quality copper bulk star quad speaker wire and my guess is they will work as good as the Venom for you. If you cut them up the value will drop like a rock.
I have been a fan of Shunyata for years and recently made my own star quad speakers cables with single crystal copper wire.
After trying them out I sold my Shunyata Andromeda speaker cables. I will grant you the Andromeda have been out for quite a while but I stand my by opinion.

Buy a pair of spade to banana adaptors. Don't strip the Shunyata's. Good luck.
