Classic Audio speaker are supposed to be amazing but very heavy. The are efficient and always get great reviews. If they were not so big and heavy, I'd love to try them.

OK guys - I pulled the trigger on the Classic audio t 1.4's!!!!- John is bringing them up himself next weekend- So now I need amps- He rec. the allnic either 1500,2000 or the 5000 monos- A couple of folks have rec. the Canary audio M500's - 50 watts of 300b!!- never heard of them but they look well built- anyone heard the Canarys- Also open to other opinions as I need to move quickly- thanks

Re: Anyone fmiliar with Classic Audio Loudspeakers T-1.3??

congrats !!!! those are serious beauties!!!i know the canary guy(us dealer) , hes a good guy but a bit of a used car salesman. his name is joe martinelli and he goes by jm sound, you can find him on audiogon (jms) he will give you the lowdown and be honest about it. couple things i called him on he told me not to bother with. i have never heard their 300b's. but the gear i have heard from canary is real good.
but i think the best value you mentioned is the allnic t1500 integrated. what you get for $6900 msrp is incredible. call care-audio 848-229-2044 he is right in edison n.j. his name is sunil and he is one of only 2 allnic dealers in the country. and a great guy. tell him steve from south jersey sent you. he will treat you right. hes selling a demo t1500 right now, if he still has it. and also has a t2000 there as well so you can hear the difference, but the t1500 kills it imo. they are totally different amps,
you also have an audio space dealer up by you in northern n.j. to try their 300b amps. but i never heard them and i cant remember the name of the shop. i want to say its in maplewood.
those speakers are sweet please let us know how they sound when you get them.
if you need any more info on these guys pm me. i just told sunil today i would send some people his way to take care of them. he said of course he will. if you ask nicely he will load up the allnic amps and bring them to your house, to plug into your speakers.

Guys thanks so much- I was talking with Peter Brueninger yesterday from AV showrooms and he was raving about them - The only reason I am hesitant about the 1500 is that my room is 17x28 and I am not sure if it will have enough Juice to fill it and also to power the 2-15" woofers- You Guys are close by and are more than welcome to pop by when John is here to watch him set up and position the speakers and of course enjoy them.
Just let me know you are more than welcome!!!

Re: Anyone fmiliar with Classic Audio Loudspeakers T-1.3??

i was just saying to paul in another thread that the integrated might not be enough for his big speakers in his big room, you may be in the same boat. the a5000dht from allnic might be better cause they are monos, letting one drive each speaker may be the ticket for you as well.
ive also been lusting a pair of raven spirit300b monos, they are 28w i believe and are gorgeous and less expensive than the a5000's. check them out. oh btw alnic also makes a6000 300b monos that are 50w!!! which is huge but there are 4-300b tubes per amp and alot to roll tubes in. and rolling tubes is one of the best parts of 300b's imo.
don rule out 845's which giv you a littlemore power as well.
call sunil and talk with him about it, he is very knowledgable and will help you out alot.
and you can probably work something out for testing. you guys being so close to each other is a perfect match.

Dennis at Serious Audio said that if these speakers are 97DB which I think they are then his 2.5 watt 2A3 amp will have NO problem driving it because of the power supply - Not sure if that is correct to drive 2-15" woofers ,unless I bi-amp??

Like many other things in life it has been my experience that you never want to be underpowered. Tom Danley did a paper on headroom required for musical peeks. The most demanding being 20db. if you are playing at 1 watt you would need 100 watts not to compress that peak. If you are playing at 1/2 watt then you need 50 watts for a 20db peak. I have had 8 watt 300b's amps on my 104 db eff. horns and loved them. If you by-amp and put a Job225 on the bass you could be in heaven. Just food for thought.

OK- Classic Audio T1.4's are in the house!!- Man are they BIG!!!!- John drove out from Michigan and helped set them up - Great guy-
Now I need to find the right amp We tried the new Atma-sphere Novacrons- Good Bass but not enough warmth and detail in the mids and upper ranges sounded a little congested-
We also tried the Allnic T1500- This little guy sounded great on mid and upper regions but totally lacked any bass- I also got the Serious Stereo 2A3 but the guy I bought them from forgot to put the 20 amp cables in the box so they are just sitting here- So I am open to suggestions- John felt that I should stay single ended instead of push pull??- He felt it sounds better but I know nothing about this having active speakers for so long- thks- Gary

awesome congrats!!!!!! yea i would go single ended all the way. those are not push pull speakers. but the right push pull would sound good also, i just think you have the perfect speaker for SET's so why not run them. you need to get out to hear some amps.
paul is liking the allnic 5000 dht monos. i think you also need the monos to keep the full range sound your looking for. did you check out the raven spirits? sweet amps for sure and list well under the allnic monos.
what about just a simple 8w sophia electric monos?? inexpensive, resale is pretty good if you dont like them, and i believe sophia does a 15 day home trial, no questions asked return policy. dont let the 8w fool you they are super dynamic when put on the right speaker. and have great bass and all the rest 300b's are known for. also you might want to try some 845 amps that give you a little more power than 300b's. my heart is with 300b's but you may prefer something different.

thanks guys- I started a new thread but just bought the canary M-500 300B amps- At the price I got them for I can unload them if not happy- I chatted with a few folks about them and seems that they are a great amp that gets very little press here in the states- I hope that the 50 watts and 300B's will give me what the Allnic t-1500 lacked in bass and the Atma-sphere lacked in the upper regions- We shall see- Any thoughts on the 300b tubes?? thanks and happy fathers day to all!!
