+1. I am soooooo happy (again). I don't care who tells me how good these new Sonus Faber Lillium speakers are - I'm not changing.

The Strads are his timeless masterpiece....and one listen confirms that.

    RIP.

    Mark,

I've been obsessing about these for a long time. These are not going anywhere. As Cyril says, other gear may come and go, not the Strads.

Enjoy! It would be good to hear what things you tweak (setup toe in, rake, cables and isolation feet or bases, etc.) to maximize the speakers.

It's a great amp and was certainly on my list. But I think the Pass XS150's will be wonderful. There is a great Strad/Pass synergy. I had it the first time around with my XA160.5's too.

Mark - I moved from the Strads to the Aidas, to the D1's, to the D3's (rev 1) to the S5's to the D3's (Rev 2) to the Alexia's and back to the Strads....heck, I'm tired! The Strads work in my room. That's enough to keep them there for a very long time. Anything else would be a gamble as to whether they would work in my room or not.

Thank you Bill. I was never able to hear the Elipsa SE and always thought Strads. My room has enough area where I feel the Strads work well. It's probably on the edge but I love it.

I'll need to try ARC. I want to hear how the new Galileo series of gear sounds.

Paul the Strads have a warmth all to themselves. No need to make them sound like mush by adding Mc gear. 😃

Re: Thank you Franco Serblin for Sonus Faber Stradivarius speakers ...

    Thanks everyone.

It's funny, I don't find the Strads warm, too warm or overly ripe. To me they are perfect.

As for McIntosh, I don't think it's too much of a good thing. Like Paul says a little dark perhaps, but I don't mind it that way. I do find myself thinking about MC2301's once the MC601's are sold next week.

Even the CJ GAT/ART combo could be sweeter for my taste but it actually is PERFECT as it is now. The Hegel H30 is outstanding and the Pass gear is oh so wonderful.

Everything has a different flavor, nothing bad and actually, it's all really great. Color me lucky!

Well said Joe. I also find many people who haven't heard the Strads think they are warm. Then they hear them and are quite surprised at how balanced they are. And I have found the same thing....it doesn't matter what amp I put on them, they respond beautifully. They can rock right along with the Hegel or romance the listener with the Cary SET amps.

    As for 2301's.....YES!

    Thank you Mike!

They've been an obsession of mine and one that I'm glad to have followed through on.

Listening late at night feels like I am in the band. Just wonderful.

Glad i was able to help in some (small ) way. They are definitely beautiful to look at (I have not heard them),but think that especially as more choices become available -(including$$) then looks DO become important.Sq definitely matters most but who wants to look at utter cr*p? These look like you will be very happy for a very long time.Cabinet making as an art - with great sound thrown in!!

There is something special about dual-ten-inch woofers in a loudspeaker cabinet design.

They are fast, forceful when needed and accurate/detailed in tandem....without being overbearing or flabby.

    Yay.

Re: Thank you Franco Serblin for Sonus Faber Stradivarius speakers ...

Are the Elipsas and Strads going to be phased out of production? I know that Paragon Sound is selling BNIB Elipsas for $11K because they state on their website that those are no longer being produced. Maybe the Elipsa is now only available as the Elipsa SE?? Or maybe both the Elipsa and Strads will no longer be produced?? I have no idea...just asking in case someone knows the details. Thanks.
