You merged the name of a Franco Serblin speaker and a Paolo Tezzon speaker. Not to worry. It's pretty common for those not familiar with Sonus Faber history.

No worries. I will send an email to John Atkinson to correct the name on his review to "Sonus Faber Amati Anniversario Homage Collection" Speakers.

    RIP Franco Serblin...

Not to put too fine a point on it but what does any reviewers description have to do with what a company's name for a product is? Missed edits happen all the time and John knows (knew) the speaker was Amati Anniversario.

Sonus faber Amati Anniversario is the speaker. Homage is the series.

To be honest with you. I don't really care how they call or what they call ....I only care about the sounds.

    Hi Andre,

You have a wonderful system and you've heard a lot more than I ever will. Right now my situation is unique and I am fortunate to have some great gear. I think the problem lies with too much access to websites like this one. I see all the shiny new toys and I can't help myself.

I see a turntable and all that goes with it in my future. Maybe another DAC and maybe one more pair of speakers. See what can happen if I am not careful.

Okay I'll start with a TT and see where that takes me.

We are all unique, and that's what makes us all beautiful in our own peculiar ways.

Andre's audio gear, loudspeakers, and beautiful music collection are all awesome!

The Strad remains easily Franco Serblin's Magnum opus, imho. :respect:

My only concern when people mix and meld the names and then attribute characteristics is that it gets tough for the new person with Sonus faber interest to understand what is what. Just trying to make it clearer for the novice.

That's where I'm at right now Bill. First there are all the names; Amati, Furura, Cremona, etc... Then then are different versions; SE, Aniversario, etc...and lastly the mis-information on the web. My head is spinning just typing this. Maybe it's time for another cup of coffee!

Gorgeous looking and sounding speakers. I think if I was to start a speaker manufacturing company (and I'm not), I would hire an Italian designer as a first step. Great sounding speakers win a buyers mind. Great looking speakers win their heart.

    Hi guys,

I heard sometimes the Amati Futura at a friend's house, and I can say that his system is playing divinely. The last time I heard the setup it had AR CD8, REF5 SE preamp, MC601 and interconnect cables and speaker cables Siltech Royal Signature.

I was very impressed with the dynamics, texture, focus, cutting instruments, and aeration and naturalness.

Now he is using Burmester 808 MKV preamp, and is hoping to reach the 1.2KW. He is also waiting to get the AR CD9 and Einstein The Source to decide which one will be better in the system.

I wonder how will his system after these upgrades.
