SimAudio 700i
We have a new entry in the world of best integrated amps, the SimAudio 700i.
$14k MSRP.
It has an iron fist grip on the bass and a gigantic soundstage which extends way outside the speakers. Super 3D sounding.
Shameless plug: No store in North America has a better selection of integrated amps than Suncoast Audio.

Re: SimAudio 700i
Heard it yesterday with the Vivid G2 S2s. The amp did a very nice job driving this incredibly good sounding speakers.

Re: SimAudio 700i
I have a Moon 700i V2 on loan from my dealer, it's driving the YG Acoustic's Hailey very well (very fast), Mids/Highs are silky sweet with an "airy" sound (large soundstage).
This amp is imaging like more expensive separates IMO. Bass is very controlled and deep but on the lighter side.
Now wondering if the 860A V2 would bring the extra volume in the low frequencies. (in theory not that much more power then the 700i V2)
The 700i V2 I have on loan is brand new out of the box, playing for 4 days now, will the performance still change in the coming days ?Moon 700i V2, YG Acoustics Hailey, Aurender N10, dCS Rossini, Oppo BDP103D (audiopraise board), Ansuz Mainz 8 D2

Re: SimAudio 700i
..."Shameless plug: No store in North America has a better selection of integrated amps than Suncoast Audio"...
Couldn't agree more. Not just in quantity, but top quality components as well. The best of the best. Check out their list of brands. There isn't a better selection anywhere.
No connection to the store. Just a VERY satisfied customer. It was just a little over a year ago that I spent about seven hours auditioning integrated amps at Suncoast Audio. Seven hours and seven amps. It was the experience of a lifetime for an audiophile like myself. I got to audition all the brands and models I had read about on the net. It made my final decision much easier...well, sort of anyway. At least I left the store a little more assured that I was making a right choice.
But there were just so many superb amps I had to listen like I've never listened before to make sure I was making "a" right decision. After all, when you're listening to amps of the caliber I listened to there is no "best" amp. There's only the sonic flavor your ears like best. You can see by my signature the amp and components I chose. I could have been completely satisfied with about any of the seven amps I auditioned. But the system I chose couldn't have pleased me more.
Mike was extremely helpful. I even got to talk to Audio Shark community member joeinid on Mike's phone. Great guy and fun to talk to. He was very assuring to me that I was making a good decision.
All in all, it was a wonderful time. I can't believe it's been a year already. My new system is breaking in so very nicely. It's at about 300 hours now and sounding absolutely superb. For the "100th" time, Mike...thank you!

Re: SimAudio 700i
The Moon 700i V2 has been in my system for two weeks now, roughly I would say it has been playing 150 hours, performance is still improving day by day.
Yesterday I decided that it is staying in the system, really like the match with my YG Acoustics Hailey's. Airy and fast, Large soundstage and so much more detail without getting harsh.Moon 700i V2, YG Acoustics Hailey, Aurender N10, dCS Rossini, Oppo BDP103D (audiopraise board), Ansuz Mainz 8 D2

Re: SimAudio 700i
Really like the 700i V2, first 5 watts in class A, 350 watts @ 4 ohm, dual mono power supply, no global feedback loop.
In combination with the YG's it's very fast without sounding sterile, might have to do that transformers and buffers are not too large.
The Aavik U-300 sounded dry compared to this Moon, on the YG Hailey's, (combination Magico V3 and U-300 was not dry sounding !)
I might try a Simaudio Pre/Power combination in the future, but for now this 700i v2 will do just fine :-)Moon 700i V2, YG Acoustics Hailey, Aurender N10, dCS Rossini, Oppo BDP103D (audiopraise board), Ansuz Mainz 8 D2

Re: SimAudio 700i
Curious about the sound characteristics of the 700i compared to an Accuphase E650 or E800..Anyone heard both and can comment? Looks like a beautiful piece.

Re: SimAudio 700i
I did own Accuphase E-550/560/600 in the past, and now I have a Moon 700i V2.
At the time of the Accuphase amps I was playing with Magico V3's, which was a good combination (for small to medium rooms)
The Moon 700i V2 is driving my current YG Acoustic Hailey's, therefore it is difficult to give a direct comparison.
But both amps are good in my opinion, in the end it will depend on your own system and room acoustics.Moon 700i V2, YG Acoustics Hailey, Aurender N10, dCS Rossini, Oppo BDP103D (audiopraise board), Ansuz Mainz 8 D2
