    Newer 860A v2 Power Amp

Has anyone heard the newer 860A V2 power amp yet? Seems like it might be good competition for the Luxman 900 amp, price and performance wise.

What an amplifier! The top end is so smooth and an all out assault on sibilant recordings. The bass is fast, punchy, tight. Vocals are smooth and natural. This is a dynamic monster. It’s right up there with the M900u, but different. The M900u is sweeter and richer. This is super smooooooth, a champion dealing with sibilant recordings and a dynamic monster with “Soulution like” grip & bass.

And flick a switch and you’ve got monos. 750 watts monsters!

Current preamp pairing is with the Pass XP22. Can’t wait to try it with the ARC REF6SE....I have a hunch.

I was totally surprised by SimAudio several years ago. Listened to a lower end integrated, possibly 740i, on B&W speakers. After the little thing warmed up it was a total WOW moment.

It was awesome. I can only imagine how good the newer higher end gear is now.

I have heard the 860v2 at my dealers place paired with the Moon preamp, 700 series one removed from top of line, with KEF Ref 1 speakers. Wonderful sound.

I will definitely be getting an 860A v2 in my somewhat near future. Simaudio is one of the most underrated audio brands IMO. Love the idea that I can start out stereo and move on to monos as funds allow.

    Hi,
I have the 860a v2 paired with the 740D and I can confirm that is a never ending story.
Fast, transparent, detailed, dynamic, a big soundstage with a lot of delicatesse but tonally neutral
    and top notch timing.
Only five months old and still a lot to discover

I currently have the W8 and 850P pre-amp. My only concern is that the W8 is rated 250W x2 and the 860A v2 is rated a little lower at 225W x2. My speakers are Magico S5mkii, so need a bit of power.
Has that ever been a problem for you?

That amp looks awesome... I have been very impressed with the very little experience that I have with SimAudio! Their phono stages are amazing in my view.

Hi Mike did you ever end up trying the 860 v2 with the ref6se? Someone else recommended that pairing using it themselves, imagine it lights up some Francos nicely. As always thx for the advice!
