Outstanding! Hadn't seen these on the web site over the weekend, so it must have just gone live today.

Shunyata is following on the heels of the release their amazing Alpha and Sigma digital USB cables.

What with the recent announcement of the new line of power distributors and Venom NR-V10 and NR-V12 power cables, Shunyata Research is really hitting on all cylinders of late.

Re: Shunyata Ethernet Cables - NEW!

Finally had a chance to listen to the Sigma Ethernet cables. My brother and I did a comparo of the AQ Diamond and the Sigma in my system.

As good as the Diamond is, our assessment is that the Sigma is a bit more dynamic, better control of the bottom end, with more instrument definition, more extension and finesse at the top. The Diamond (which I own) was a little warm in comparison and maybe a little slower.

Both are excellent cables but I give the edge to the Sigma; at least in my system.

I ordered a 10 meter Sigma ethernet. I remain to be convinced, no harm in trying.

I auditioned Sigma and kept it. Used to use AQ Diamond < Vodka < Cinnamon. Now it becomes Sigma < Diamond < Vodka. Music sounds more refined now.

From what I can tell the Audioquest Diamond is considerably more expensive than Shunyata Sigma ethernet.

Both AQ Diamond and Shunyata Sigma Ethernet cables have gone up in price*.

    - Shunyata Sigma Ethernet 1.5M = $1170
    - AQ Diamond Ethernet 1.5M = $1450

    * MSRP from Music Direct

I bought a 10 meter. I think AQ almost double the Shunyata price at that length.

Well my Shunyata Research Sigma Ethernet arrived today thanks again Mike. I have it in the box still, it pretty wild looking in person.Going to wait a few days before installing it. I want the Lumin T2 to burn in as well as get my ears accustomed to the new sound. I want to see if this cable is as good as they say.

Why is the connector of the Sigma ethernet as shown on the Shunyata website different to the same cable shown on the Music Direct website? The connectors are very different. What's going on?

The connector in the first pic is a Belden connector, the second pic is a Telegartner connector. The Telegartner connectors superceded the Belden connectors in all production units except the Venom model within 1 week of the release of the Shunyata Ethernet cables, so my guess is there are none of the earlier Belden connectors on Delta, Alpha or Sigma Ethernet cables in the retail market.

The Telegartners were implemented because they sound audibly better.

I have two Alpha Ethernet cables. One has the Belden connector and the other has the Telegartner.
Honestly I am not fond of the Belden at all as it is not a well made termination. Would much prefer to have it replaced with the Telegartner.

I received my Sigma Ethernet cable today (thanks Mike!). When I was inserting it into my set-up I looked but could not find any directional indicators. Notice the ones in the post 23 & 24 above. Has there been a running change to eliminate the indicators?

    Jim,
There should be some heat shrinkable tubing with an arrow about 1/2" long near each Telegartner connector that indicates directionality.

Thanks, Stephen. Found it. I guess I was trying to install them too quick. It sounds so good that I hate flipping them around.

Excellent cable Jim; congratulations! I’ve had it in my system for a year - definitely a winner.
