Does Eiger now make T2 redundant?

That's what I don't understand. I find the current distributor range is getting confusing. Why would you buy T2 for an Eiger, just be done with it and buy Everest. One box. Cheaper? The upgrade path from my Denali 6000/S v1 is what? Add a T2. Sell it and buy Eiger. Or Denali 6000/T v2. Or what?

I’m sure most folks wish they could just buy an Everest and be done with it. Unfortunately many can’t afford that kind of outlay of cash at one time. Offering the Denali plus T2 makes it easier to take smaller bites to arrive at Everest-level performance.

Unfortunately the Denali v2 left a gap in Shunyata’s lineup. There has clearly been a demand for a tower model that is more affordable than the Everest, but still in the Reference series.

The Denali 6000/Tower v2 wasn’t really the model to fill that gap as its price came too close to the Everest. What would be needed was a tower model closer to the Denali 6000/S v2’s price. I think that’s probably where Eiger fits. The Eiger doesn’t match the Denali’s performance as it has only 3 zones instead of 6. The added cost of the vertical chassis meant scaling back on things a bit. That’s my guess anyway.
