Denali also has CopperCONN conectors that are not present on Alpha, and each outlet has CCI (component to component interference) protection rather than the pairs of outlets (duplexes) having CCI.

I plug my stuff straight into the wall and am beginning to wonder if a Shunyata Conditioner + Pwr Cables might lower the noise and create a more smooth listening experience.....I guess I don't know what I don't know haha
I have not heard the Sigma S12, but assuming (and I mean assuming) that with its filters for pairs of outputs like Denali V1, it was as good as Denali V1, so ......... do not hesitate, buy Denali V2 , it is a very big step with respect to V1

Again, this is why I don't understand why NR power cords and not XC are recommended to power components connected to Denali V2.

    Re: Shunyata Denali 6000/S v2

I'll try. Noise from the wall to the distributor has two places to be removed - the distributor and the distributor to component NR PC. [Noise emanating from a component to another component (attached to the same distributor) has three places to be removed: the NR PC that drives the component, the distributor, and NR PCs from the distributor to other attached components.] Having a PC from the wall to the distributor with NR capability would, in Shunyata's opinion, be overkill/overly redundant noise filtration and cost more than necessary.

Quote: "Again, this is why I don't understand why NR power cords and not XC are recommended to power components connected to Denali V2."

I think because there is likely other noise present in the room that may penetrate to PC (between the distributor and the component) before it reaches the
component.... that needs to be removed by the NR filter at the component end.

So inter-component noise rejection via the CCI in Denali V2 of itself can be improved further by using NR PC, but using NR PC from the wall to the Denali V2 doesn't (in a worthwhile sense) because the NR feature within Denali V2 is sufficient (meaning CCI within Denali V2 is not).

    Re: Shunyata Denali 6000/S v2

So I'm considering getting a Denali v2 for my system but I'm wondering if the QR/BB tech will make a difference considering my system is a DNA Stratus(pure class A tube headphone amp) and a Bryston bcd-1 CD player(will be upgrading CD player soon). I know it may sound like overkill to some but I spend a lot of time with this system and want the best(currently using a Hydra V-ray v2). So what do you think Denali v2 or should I just go with a Delta D6?

    Shunyata Denali 6000/S v2

What do you do when you’re locked inside? Have a shootout of course...

The Denali 6000 S/v2 removes that last bit of glare from digital. It’s really freaking good.

How much better can the 8000 be?

The QR/BB technology is, IMHO, a breakthrough at a fundamental level, and it is one of the key functionalities that sets Denali apart from competitive products. It creates an enveloping, almost 3D-holographic soundstage, image and presentation that becomes....immersive.

In conclusion, with all the discussion of "engineering considerations", audiophile-speak, and high-end geekery aside, Denali creates beguiling and engaging musical experiences. When I listen to it with high-quality recordings, I'm not thinking about cables, QR/BB modules, or "gear" at all because...I find myself lost in the music.

Yes, Mike, I had the same question on my mind. How good is the Denali v2 with Audioquest Hurricanes/ Dragons? You mentioned you use Hurricanes at home so would be really eager to know, since I also got a Denali v2 and ordered a set of Hurricanes for it. Any advantage for the Sigma power cords or do the Hurricanes still shine (as well)?

    Thanks and regards!

Sorry, just seeing this. I’ve been busy with the home projects.

Yes, I tried a Dragon HC on the 6000S/v2. I felt it had too much upper end energy for me. Subtle, but too much sizzle for me. Not an ideal combo Ironically, on the Niagara 5000, the Dragon HC is silky smooth butter. Smooooooth as silk.

When I switched to a Shunyata NR on the 6000S/v2 and it was smoooooooth as silk and I felt, it also took away some of the glare on the digital recordings.

Both are excellent, but must be used with their respective designed cables IMO.

I can’t wait to try an Everest 8000 with Omega XC. OH MAN!

This is very helpful Mike, I had the same question, but in reverse and I assume the same would hold true.

I use Niagara 7000 and 5000 with Hurricanes from outlets to Niagara; Hurricanes Niagara to LCR amps, and bunch of Shunyata Alpha HC to preamp, streamer, DACs, and SSP.

In the context of Niagara distributors, best to feed them with AQ power cords or have you not tried the latest Shunyata PCs with the Niagara?? Ok to use new Shunyata NR after the Niagara to block noise coming from components?? Or again stick with same manufacturer, AQ??

    Thx.

That is an interesting choice. Have you had a chance to compare the Pangea cable with the offerings from Audioquest and Shunyata? If yes, I would love to know your impressions.
    Thanks

I tired wireworld silver 7, anti cable level 3, and now Pangea on my mono blocks. I think the Pangea PC sound the best. My non audiophile wife agreed. So I picked up a few more for my other amps, and subs.

I started with Pangea when I was being exposed to power cords. Later I moved over to Shunyata, and haven't looked back.

    Shunyata Denali 6000/S v2

Call me a “power skeptic” but I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d be sitting here talking about the virtues of clean power. 15 years ago I bought a Panamax power converter for a small set up I had from Best Buy and cursed the sales guy that sold it to me.

Fast forward, and I seem to overloaded my PS Audio P10 at high volumes with my mono blocks and I “needed” to find a solution. I was also experiencing noise at louder volumes that I dove me a little nuts.

I’ve had the Denali V2 in my room for about a week now. I’ve kept it playing almost constantly to break it in. It’s being fed by a Pangea PC. The 6 outlets are powering my mono blocks, EMM front end/digital, and the extra goes to my center channel amp.

I started with music that I normally listen to and heard some improvement. Was I shocked, not at all.. sounded better.. not anything to write home about. A couple days later it started to open up. Last night, I turned off the lights and played Dark Side of the Moon DSD. Laying back with my eyes closed, I swear to you that the music was coming from behind me on my pool table. I have NEVER heard as much of a 3D soundstage as I did last night. There were no walls, there was nothing but exact placement of music all around me. I played it louder and louDER, and LOUDER and never heard any of the noise I had with the P10.

This is an insane comment from a guy who said power converters were all the same. I was without question wrong. My PS Audio is only powering TV and other “non-essential” parts of my set up.

Damn it.. I might need to buy their power cables.

Really pleased you've been hearing what we've been experiencing with Denali V2.

The 3D soundstage you've described is primarily due the QR/BB device in Denali V2; this is a key attribute that it brings to the presentation that is, in my experience, completely unique. It fundamentally changes the musical presentation in a way I've never experienced before.

And guess what: it gets EVEN better when you use Shunyata power cords. You may want to start with a Delta XC, or if you have the budget, Alpha XC, to power your Denali. The Sigma XC will maximize this effect.

One of the things I've been experiencing using Sigma XC and Denali, is that I find myself listening and going into a quasi-trance-like mental state while listening to music, much as you described when you were listening with your eyes closed.

What happens is that I completely stop listening to "gear" and find I am completely lost in the experience of the music. It's really something.

    Have fun!

I am wondering whether the US version of the Denali 6000/S v2 would work fine in Japan on 100V?

Per the specs it looks it should be fine but I prefer to ask.

    Thank you.

    Cheers,

The US spec Denali works fine from ~90-125 VAC

Yes, there is something special happening when you mate a Shunyata PD with a Sigma XC. It's like it has optimal working conditions

Now, don't come talk about the OHMega.

Exactly right, it's like putting a better throttle body onto the fuel injector for a high-performance motor. The PD (the fuel injector) is getting all the fuel/air mixture it really needs to perform at peak level.

Don’t sweat it, just be prepared to get a Sigma/Omega XC to your Everest
    Climb like immediately.

Then later you can begin working the preamp/source with Alpha V2 NR. And then Sigma V2 NR for amps. It can be done in steps but your PD-Wall cable is the most important for the PD to work optimally.
