recommend to me which Shunyata power cable?

    Hey y'all,

I have recently added a CS Port phono stage that is battery powered, totally disconnected from the charging circuits while in use. My former Einstein "The Turntable's Choice" phono stage had Python Ztron power cables, and I have moved one to the CS Port phono.

I'm not wanting to invest in something like a Sigma v2, so what power cord would you recommend for the CSPort phono. And while the CSPort line is developed by a fellow in Japan with half-century building quiet power supplies, I expect some noise might still be coming from it?

I also tried moving the other Python to the power supply of my AMG v12 turntable, but damn if the C15 connector doesn't want to easily twist round to the orientation of the plug in the power supply. I think I need something in the EF category of cable. Any suggestions for a cable for this application?

What's your budget? I'm thinking Delta XC or Alpha XC might be good candidates.

I thought the XC models were for wall to conditioner. My front end all plug into a Triton v3. I've not kept up with the latest spin on Shunyata models, just that some think the new Alpha NR v2 surpass the Sigma NR v1 (but that is commonly said as Shunyata has introduces new models). As for budget, since the phono stage is battery powered, it doesn't need the DTCD benefits, so Sigma level pricing makes no sense to me. For the power cord to the turntable power supply, again I don't think Sigma level would be appropriate but if an AlphaNR is the right choice I'd strongly consider it.

The EF is the older version of the current XC v2 series. You may want something with NR (noise reduction), such as Delta NR v2, or even better, Alpha NR v2 if you can afford it

The reason I mentioned the XC PCs is that you mentioned that needed something along the lines of an EF cable, and the new XC line of PCs are the replacement for the EF line. For your battery-powered phono stage, the new Venom V14D Digital PC would be a good choice. For the turntable power supply, I would think the Venom NR-V12 would be fine. If your turntable has a separate power supply of the Rega/Linn/Michell "never connected to the AC mains" type, then use a Venom V14D Digital PC for that, as well. I don't think you need an Alpha NR-class PC (or even Delta NR) for the turntable motor.

You're correct, but my thought is a Delta or Alpha NR v2 for simply powering a turntable motor would be overkill; especially if the motor for the turntable is powered by "a never connected to the AC mains" type DC power supply. For a direct AC-connected turntable motors, a Venom NR-V12 should be more than adequate. And for a "never connected to the AC mains"-type turntable power supply, e.g. the type that Rega uses for the Planar 6, 8, and 10, Caelin specifically recommended the Venom V14D Digital to me when I got the Rega Planar 10 in for review (and which I am using based on his recommendation).

And you are of course, right. Perhaps something like the Venom NR v12 would be the sweet spot

Puma, I know you've been getting pretty intimate with the Shunyata line-up, so thanks for your recommendations.
