New Venom (or replacement to) line coming in 2021?

I was browsing Shunyata's site looking for the Venom PS8 distributor.

The US model is no longer listed.

A sign of things to come? Meaning new Venom PS8 plus perhaps interconnects and speaker cables?

I've seen various authorized Shunyata dealers promoting the Venom interconnects+ speaker at discounted rates.

I believe the power cables were just recently updated along with higher lines.

    Perhaps a new Venom PS8 V2 ? to compete with Niagara 1200?

    As well as new speaker/interconnects?

Very interesting. I bet that if were they to release a PS8 replacement, it would easily beat anything at an equivalent price point. My home theater system is already salivating. 😀

We haven't seen the products we were teased about months ago. So chances are, new products we haven't been teased about are further away than that.

I think it is safe to assume that we will see a few new or updated products in 2021. The Typhon QR replacement was leaked by a dealer a few months ago.

Looks like a new Venom line is forthcoming too.

Maybe later in 2021 or 2022 the Omega line of speaker cables and interconnects will make their debut.

Again all speculation , but, we'll see what happens.

I know for a fact the v2 line of everything, as well as Everest, are all having great success, and Shunyata has to fire in all cylinders to meet the demand. At capacity. That surely must have an impact on plans for launching new products

They have been catching up to demand. My most recent order shipped a week after it placed. At the start of this year, it took about three weeks.

Here is the product brochure for the new Shunyata Research PS10, which was launched yesterday. I did the commercial product photography for this excellent new power distributor from Shunyata and listening to it first-hand, it is very impressive and brings a significant improvement in audio quality compared to my "control" power distributor, a Cryoparts power strip (which is comprised of high-quality outlets and IEC receptacle in a billet aluminum enclosure).

Wow! Nice, I think I'll pick one up for my TV/media system.

The best of news of all given the recent times, no price increase in MSRP over the previous model.

Perhaps even a better value than the Niagara 1200, which is now $1300 US MSRP plus add a power cord.

Re: New Venom (or replacement to) line coming in 2021?

So.... tonight I replaced the Shunyata Hydra 4 that was powering my Pace Internet router, Mac Mini ROON Core*, and EtherREGEN Ethernet switch* in the "music server room" with the new Shunyata PS10 power distributor and....the improvement was NOT subtle.

'Mo betta for any audio attribute you'd care to discuss. Better....everything. Everywhere. Holy smokes... 🤯

    Okayyy... 👌 😺

*-these are powered by Shunyata Venom 14 NR power cords (including previously with the Hydra 4 as well)

What has surprised me is the PS10 is universal voltage. As far as I know the only previous Shunyata product that has been universal voltage was Typhon. Have they given up on building market specific voltage products? The aesthetics of PS10 I think are quite good.

I have no idea about that. This one has a Venom NRv12 power cord and USA-specification 3-prong plug.

It sounds VERY good, and for the money, it's pretty ridiculous. After I completed the product photography for it and listened to it for a spell, I took this over for an audio buddy who has a Hydra 6 and Venom 3s so he could hear it. He's got a really nice system with all Air Tight components, a Michell TT with SME arm and EAR phono stage, Avalon speakers, and....his mouth literally fell open in astonishment after I swapped it into his system.

The aesthetics are very nice, and you won't believe the grip it puts on the power cable plugs once you plug them in. Something that is particularly nice is that the outlets alternate their orientation between one side and the other side, and there is room around each outlet to be able to plug in wall-wart type power cords, if need be. It also has nice vibration-damping footers on the bottom. It's a very well thought-through product.

I doubt it will be sold in my market any time soon. They haven't even got around to selling Denali V1 here yet.

I think the product brochure has a little typo in terms of the level of noise suppression; it claims it's >24dB when the website says:

    Noise Suppression:
    >10db @ (100kHz – 30MHz) line to outlets

which is in line with the noise suppression of the NR-V12 cord and the NR-V10. This is also part of what Puma subsequently posted

Actually, the typo was on the web site; it's been corrected. Part of the total NR is provided by the NR v12 power cord, which contributes -10dB of of the overall noise reduction, but the total noise reduction spec of the PS10 power distributor is -24 dB.

Cool beans, you're gonna love it. I was fairly shocked at the improvement it made when I put it on the networking components in the "music server" room. Please post your impressions when you get it. Cheers.

Looks like I got one of the first units, serial number 0123. Plastic casing, very tight grip and better than the Hubbells, but I also think it might be because of smaller outlet holes. Just started breaking in. I was hoping for a metallic unit, with SR-Z1 outlets, V10 NR cord. So far, I have only listened to FM and noticed that the hashies are gone, a very good sign. It's powering lesser equipment - like FM, DAC, ML speakers, turntable speed controller, headphones - and is connected to the Denali 6000S/v2. More details in a few days; if things continue on this path, then I will probably get a second one for my video system. The box appears to be generic, suited to the Venom line of conditioners plus the new Altaira grounding boxes; it's small and long, which means the Altaira will be rather shallow.

Yeah, the PS10 is great. You should try it on your actual stereo components some time, just to get a perspective on how it stacks up to the Denali V2. With -24dB of noise reduction (as much as the original Triton V1, which sold in 2011 for...$5,000), the improvement in audio quality when powering the main system components is pretty dang impressive. As for the outlets, no, the grip on the plug prongs is not because the openings are smaller, it was designed that way; to grip the power cord plug prongs very tightly so as to make the best possible connection. It's also got a Carling electromagnetic breaker as well. 👍

I just put my digital streaming components (Roon Core, router, and EtherREGEN) in the remote server room on it, and was really impressed with the improvement in audio quality over using my Hydra 4.

It's also great for use with a home theatre system, too.

    Congrats on getting yours. Cheers.

Great write up. I plan on getting one for my tv/sound bar and accompanying electronics.

Perhaps I need to join that forum so, we can talk Spectral :-)

Your perspective is missed at WBF.

Good to see them building a universal voltage product. Gives customers in 240V land an option to own this stuff that they might not otherwise readily have.

The Pass XP-25 phono is also now plugged into the PS10, again itself fed by the Denali. The improvement here is also evident in terms of smoothness (less distortion, less edginess), linearity and less ringing in some notes, and certainly tighter and more articulate bass. This thing is an unequivocal triumph. Thank you Shunyata!

Yeah...it's REALLY good. I've got the unit that was sent to me for the commercial photography for the product brochure. So, I had it set up for photo, did all the shots and edits in C1 and PS, and then put it into the main system and...was just freakin' gobsmacked as to how good it is. 🤯

I'm going get another one of 'em, and put it on the home theatre set-up.

Yeah, let me know that goes for you. It made a BIG difference when I swapped all the system's "networked audio gear" in the remote server room (i.e. Roon Core, Pace router, EtherREGEN and its LPS) from the Hydra 4 to the PS10. It was not subtle...

I'm not an employee, they are a client for some occasional commercial product photography I do for them. Just as they are a client for the two other commercial photographers they work with, as well.

And one more comment on the PS10, after a few months' worth of use and experimentation. It clearly slightly limits instantaneous current delivery to equipment that depend on it. For example, my Spectral SDR-4000SV CD player clearly demonstrates this with its small-capacity power supply, but not the Pass XP-25 phono with its much more elaborate and larger power supply. At the same time, the Schiit Yggy2 DAC also remains unaffected, but both it and the phono gain from the additional filtration, in terms of sound quality. So the Spectral is now permanently plugged into the Denali v2 instead (as are all other Spectral components), which is also feeding the PS10.

    Great product, nonetheless.

Anyone using the PS10 with an Everest? If so, why? Isn't the Everest good enough? What does Shunyata recommend in this case?

The PS10 is essentially a Venom NR V12 extension cord. If one needs more outlets than the Everest provides, this seems like a good solution. Shunyata used to recommend the model the PS10 replaced to gain extra outlets.

Is the Venom-X series a replacement of the Venom? or just an addition tier? The regular Venom line came out >6 years ago I believe.
