Thread: New Everest, Omega XC and Block Audio C-Lock

Just received my new Everest and Omega XC PC to replace my Denali and Sigma PC. It was worth the upgrade to me. At Mike's suggestion I also replaced my Furutech outlet cover with the Block Audio C-Lock cover. I never have to worry about a sagging connection anymore. This connection holds the heavy Omega in place without any movement. I even purchased a few more grounding wires to connect to my Altaira. I tried the Everest on a piece of granite but I preferred it on a Symposium Ultra shelf. Everything sounded great before but these purchases has brought it to the next level.

Congrats on your Everest & Omega XC PC. In my experience, they are true "game-changers" to use an over-used phrase.

Not surprised that your Everest also sounds better on the Symposium than the piece of granite; it likely sounds better because the Symposium provides better damping and isolation from vibration.

A lot of folks may not realize this, but hard materials e.g. granite or concrete quite literally ring like a bell at a specific "excitation" frequency. All you have to do is place a small music box mech up to piece of granite or concrete and turn the little crank, and you can hear the ringing firsthand; it's surprisingly loud.

Anti-vibration "pads" comprised of composite materials, e.g. the A/V Roomservice EVPs, and I would guess, your Symposium platform as well, almost completely eliminate this audible "ringing" resonance component. So, I'm not at all surprised you found the Symposium platform to sound better. 👍
