Re: Ascending to even greater heights
If I were to guess and hope. I also have a smaller system. I want an Everest but, don't *need 8 outlets.
How about Everest 4000 = 2 receptacles = 2x2.
I don't think we will see a Denali 2000T Replacement as doesn't an Omega QR straight to wall suffice for many with high end amps?
Plus one less power cable needed on that configuration.

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
I have mono amps. In Australia OMEGA QR is $16K. So that's $32K for the pair of power cables. Compare that to the price of a Denali 2000T replacement and three lesser cables which might get you about OMEGA QR performance at a more affordable price point. Even if the lesser cable was a Sigma v2 you're still getting competitive in the game at a much more sensible price point.

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
Once Caelin has clarified that the Omega XC can be manufactured with the C15 connector, I only see two possible options:
A.- That the Omega XC with the C15 connector is the order of a client with a non-Shunyata conditioner (unlikely, but not impossible) . In this case nothing to object since it is a commission.
B.- That the importer has ordered the Omega XC with a C15 connector, to have it in stock, thinking that it will be easier to sell than with a C19 connector. In this case I agree with Caelin that I should take a refresher course on Shunyata conditioners. My advice in this case is that I bought a round bread (hamburger type) put the Omega XC with C15 connector inside the bread and put a lot, a lot of ketchup, because you are going to have to eat it.Francisco

i see screws on the connectors, so i think you could change them from 15 to iec19.
not sure if shunyata sells the connector alone though.

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
3 outlets would take care of my 3 active front speakers. Maybe some day.
Until then Triton V3 will have to do. Shelf preferred in my case. Using 3 of the CGS terminals as well.

Everest grade, but with 3-4 outlets, and cheaper than current Everest would be my preference. Probably wishful thinking.

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
Sorry, can’t hold this question anymore.
Sounds like a mini Typhon (with QR/BB as main feature), can we put it before Denali 6000S V1 so that all of 6000s’ V1 outlets can have QR/BB benefit?
Will it double the QR/BB benefits (or whatever it’s called) for the 6000s’ V1 outlets which has the QR/BB module?
Thanks

Have any of you had a chance to test an Omega XC vs a Sigma XC on Everest?

Well, it doesn't really matter, I just accepted my Sigma XC buyback offer from my dealer, so I ordered an Omega XC.

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
Hi all,
finally received my Everest (which replaces a Denali v2). Listened after 2h of warming up and right away had a lovely grin on my face! I imagined the Everest just being bigger, faster and so forth. Instead it‘s much more about ease, refinement ... like everything got polished on the tracks so that it shines at it‘s very best. Like you opened a magic door where the real record was waiting all the time behind and the Everest being the magic key!
Btw that is with a AQ Hurricane to the wall. My plan was to get a Sigma XC and use the Hurricane somewhere else. The Omega is 7.500€ which is crazy money. I remember Puma saying for his gear/room the Sigma was more than enough. So any thoughts are much appreciated. The thing is with the Hurricane in place it already sounds really gooood (smooth, detailed, everything)...

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
Yup. That sums it up. It fundamentally changes the presentation in a fundamental way where the music sounds, as you say, more authentic, less "amplified by electronic components" and much more like what actual music really sounds like. It's a revelation when you hear it, and you actually have to hear it to "get it" because it is such a different experience.
The Sigma XC is superb on Everest. You can go with that and obtain excellent performance. Where Omega XC comes into play is where the budget is less-constrained AND you have a LARGE room with big amps and speakers and you need maximal horsepower (i.e., current) to provide maximal DTCD. In most applications in most average-sized rooms (of say, 12 x 18 feet), Sigma XC will serve very, very well indeed.

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
Hehe, yeah right! ... in the end aren’t we all a bit crazy?!
@Puma: Will let you know once I get it (haven’t ordered it yet, but apparently the German distributor has one in stock).
I‘m testing a pair of big Bryston Monos currently at home. Do you see any current supply shortages with those (plus a big REL)... which makes 3 1000Watt amplifier getting there juice from one source (Everest/one socket)? My room size is moderate about the size you described (about 15x15ft) and I‘m listening at moderate levels; mostly acoustic (guitar and some piano) and vocals.
Any thoughts are much appreciated!

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
Hi there,
is actually just two amps (Bryston 28b3), which I love due to the fact that they sound wonderful at moderat volumes (meaning you don‘t need to crack things up to get things going). The third is my REL subwoofer.
Don‘t know about short peaks, but my guess is that all of those three need considerably less power most of the time.
... ah yeah almost forgot: Speakers are B&W 802 Diamonds

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
My Infinity Betas need a lot of juice to sound their best (the mid-tweets were happier with the 350-watt tube monoblocks I used to use, & the Classés put out 1,400 wpc into the 4-ohm load of the Beta woofer towers), & the Rockports like a good reserve of power as well. I was just curious...
I have my (200 wpc) Edge monoblocks plugged in to my Denali 6000T, but the Classés are plugged directly in to the wall. I would think that 3 1000-watt amps would be a bit much, even for the Everest, & especially for the cord powering the Everest, although the Omega might be up to it... In other threads, Caelin has recommended that high-power amps go straight to the wall, with an Omega NR PC if possible.SOTA Cosmos TT (vacuum, Electronic Flywheel), SME V, Koetsu Rosewood Signature, Pass Labs XP-15 phono stage, Klaudio LP200 ultrasonic RCM

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
Hi,
thanks for the input! Well I could plug the REL directly into the wall (having only two sockets). Wonder if this has any benefit, if it‘s the same line?!
Anyway... I‘m really a NON expert when it comes to electricity and applied to Audio it‘s way more complicated than school or even university fomulas.
I was just wondering using the general formula of P = U x I... with 3.000 watts and a EU voltage of 230volts that would yield 13ampere max current. So with a 16amp line it would be still with in the allowed range.
Is it even feasible to use this (direct) current formula? ...and secondly I could imagine as Caelin explained using his car intake analogy: Even if it is... it‘s a more unrestricted flow of current when you use only say 20% of max capacity vs say 80%.
Maybe someone can share their two cents, since I think it‘s interesting to understand a bit more about the topic besides just buying expensive gear and having no idea.

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
My Omega XC finally arrived today. Since I can't post pictures from my iPad here, I posted some on WBT. I've only been 30 minutes with it installed and the results are very promising and oddly not in the way I expected.

Congratulations Francisco!! Please keep us updated on what changes you expected, and what changes you're experiencing, once you have a chance to listen more.
On another note, IMO the best deal on a power cord for the Everest right now is the Sigma EF (previous version shortly before the XC). It retailed for $2,500, and I saw one available for sale in used market the other day for half that. Amazing deal if you ask me, as the difference between the Sigma EF and the new Sigma XC is probably not huge, especially for that kind of pricingPerlisten S7t speakers with two Perlisten R212s subwoofers | T+A PA 3100 HV integrated amp with PS 3000 HV power supply | Esoteric N-01XD DAC & Streamer| Esoteric G-05 Master Clock | Jay’s Audio CDT3-MK3 Transport | Innuos ZENith MK3| Shunyata Everest

Re: Ascending to even greater heights
I agree, sure the V1’s are good and nice deals can be had. But if you are targeting critical lengths like to the actual Everest, there is simply no substitution for a Sigma XC or Omega XC. This is the level Everest was made for.

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
