    Nope, not religion...empirical data.

You can even obtain a sharper, crisper picture with deeper blacks even "just" using the Venom V14D Digital power cord. But a Shunyata power distributor results in increased saturation, sharper, crisper and more detailed picture and blacker blacks. And, notably improved audio from the video content.

It is analogous to viewing a 16-bit TIFF image from a digital camera shot at ISO 200 vs. an 8-bit JPEG image shot at IS01600.

Less Distortion = Improved Sound and Picture.

actually i tried a lot and never managed to change the picture. there are some display freak around who can measure really everything of difference even the slightest degree. they made leds and processors to theyr day and night hobby. i read theyr magazines for 30 years and none of them have ever suggested to use a "better" pc or distributor. they would if it made sense. picture is not audio, its hardware. not saying i am right, it is just my very own perception.
however, i liked the "more detailed picture" and wondering what it could be?

    Great news! Exciting times.

I am always favorably impressed by the companies that execute on June first an earlier announcement phrased as "sometime in June".

All to often it ends up meaning June-30. :-)

Re: Ascending to even greater heights

    Regarding video and power delivery:

I have two critical display devices in my setup.
    1. Dell 3218K 8K monitor running straight to wall with a stock powercord (I will get to it, but it needs a slightly longer cable with thin IEC end)
    2. Sim2 DLP projector projecting on Stewart Cinecurve with a Furutech 8ga cord running on a Venom EU7/Sigma HC (previously Venom HC).

I have two critical display sources in my setup.
    1. Apple TV 4K with Alpha V2 NR+V14 C5 Adapter running on a TritonV3/Sigma XC (Previous cables were Sigma Digital and Sigma HC)
    2. AMD Threadripper Workstation 1.6kW PSU, editing , gaming, work. with Venom HC cord running on a Venom EU7/Sigma HC (previously Venom HC and stock powercord).

So this is an example where the display source is not on the same circuit as the display device. What I noticed in both these instances as I gradually improved the power delivery, in this case with Shunyata cables on the display source, actually rendered a better picture on the display device even though I did not change the actual power cord/delivery of the display device.

In Audio we have something called jitter, the term is broadly used to cover almost any time-based smear of the digital audio signals. Ofcourse that could still apply to digital video signals but we are not usually discussing it, it's mostly either it works (picture) or it doesn't (no picture). Cables in audio can improve jitter measurably, why not in video?

Caelin is spot on that everyone have to prove it or disprove it to themselves, an opinion is just that. GLHF!

I'm not sure that is true.....better cables just do less harm, not improve on what goes in compared to what goes out.

Not unless they have active technology in them, no.

The oldest article about cables effect on jitter that I remember was when a stereophile reviewer played around with a jitter analyzer and different digital cables. He even reversed the cable direction and observed a different result.

Everest will be a fantastic upgrade from the HMS. What cable will you run to the wall and to your integrated/source?

    hi crion
at the moment i run a full loom of odin cables. then again i am in process of changing the whole system, apart from the audionet integrated (it is the pure dream of sound).
will sell the nagra soon and probably go for the t&a sd3100. basicly for optical reason, because the slim nagra style looks strange next to the fat audionet. probably going for a bigger wilson speaker. thouse things have priority.
    then most likely the everest.
the cabling have the least priority at the moment. once everething new is propperly broken-in, i will try the shunyata line and see what difference they make. sure i would like to feed the everst with the omega. my wife doesnt like the lock of the odin speakercable, so i might spend the cash there once shunyata comes out with a v2 line

Re: Ascending to even greater heights

Ok, so basically changing everything but the integrated.

I would propose starting with the Everest and the Omega when they are available. My contact with HMS energia products in the past and just briefly looking at the HMS definitiva componentry, there is so much there that can inhibit the current flow.

If you really are changing almost everything your system sound signature will change alot when that HMS comes out of the system. Getting a good baseline with Everest/Omega (maybe a friendly dealer can let you borrow a Denali/Sigma in the meantime) and that will let you know how you like that power foundation change which obviously Everest/Omega will give you more of.

Everest appears to be an integrated replacement for Triton + Typhon. Really pleased with this move by Shunyata. I have my Triton v3 sitting on its side behind my system due to lack of space (on a platform but still not ideal) and obviously no room to add a Typhon - this kills two birds with one stone for me. I'm already in line.

All will be revealed in less than a week. Just a little bit longer.

I also have both the Typhon QR and and Triton v3 on their sides. No room anywhere else.

I have an Everest on order, I can't wait till it comes in. I think I ordered it the day it was teased. It's just the perfect fit for my space.

I tried a couple Omegas a couple months ago and was so impressed that I bought a complete loom of those too.

If you have an Everest on order you must know the price, right? But nobody else here seems to know, or if they do know they are not saying.

Hopefully when Everest is available some Typhon QR owners will sell. I would like to buy a Typhon QR, they are difficult to find on the used market. Hopefully Everest will change that.

I do not know the price. But over the years I know how Shunyata prices things. I know it will be fair. They always have so it was a good gamble. Anything in the $10-12,000 range is cheaper than the Triton,Typhon (If I remember right) - and it fits in my system. A no brainer.

Thank you Jock for your faith and trust. It is rare that someone would order such an expensive product sight unseen and sound unheard. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. It seems only fair that you should at least get a look at her.

I was wondering what your recommendation is in terms of grounding of an Everest 8000 and of the components its feeding power to?

    Thank you.

I would suspect that the Everest is grounded when it's plugged into the wall, and everything that is connected to it is also grounded. The grounding post on the back is only used to ground devices not plugged into one of its power outlets.

A dimming switch on the back would be nice to reduce the intensity of the LED.

Do we need a LED at all?

In a home cinema I don't really need a LED telling me the PD is on all the time. I would only like to be notified if a fault occurs. So when you switch the PD on it could light up green or blue for a minute then turn the powerled circuit off. If a fault occurs light a red led.

Triton had no LED which is sort of a puristic approach.

You're forgetting the fact that Shunyata thinks EVERYTHING through thoroughly, including the brightness of LEDs.

Even the "rubber" inserts on the the SS feet of the Denali or that attach to the bottom of the DFSS cable cradles are not rubber, but Shunyata's proprietary vibration-damping polymer.

Let's not create issues where there are none. If the LED intensity bothers you a small sliver of electrical tape solves the issue.

Is the unit released? If not then, obviously, no one knows the intensity of the LEDs. Looking at the picture, there appears to be two LEDs.

There are two LEDs, just as on Denali. Only one is on when the unit is powered up and it is not bright. It's actually dimmer than the LED on my Schiit Gungnir DAC with a LightDim dot over it. And its considerably dimmer than the LEDs on my Uptone EtherREGEN and LPS-1.2 and a LOT dimmer than the LED on my Keces P3.

Bottom line, when it's on you can see it, but it is not at all what I would call bright but rather, quite subtle. Also, because it sits in a tapered opening, you can only see it when you are directly on-axis with the "optical center" of the front panel. If you are off-axis, it is barely visible.

Bottom-line, it is so subtle in appearance, that in daily use, you don't even notice it.

Caelin – I currently have a Denali 6000T, fed by an Alpha NR. (I was unaware of the "EF" info when I bought it.) If I can get a decent trade-in, I'll replace it with the Everest, but won't have the budget to upgrade the PC at the same time. How much of the Everest's performance will be diminished (if any) by an Alpha NR? What would be the least-expensive PC that won't diminish it's performance? (Obviously, better is better. I'm just wondering at what point in your PC line the Everest magic starts suffering...)

I have always been a Motörhead and have done quite a bit of road racing, so I often think in those terms. So a good analogy is of a high performance engine. The Everest would be the engine and the intake system would be analogous to the cable that feeds the Everest and the exhaust is analogous to the output power cables.

With that being said you can understand that the engine, intake and exhaust all work together to produce the total power output.

So the ultimate cable to use with the Everest is the Omega XC. There is not a better cable from us or any competitor for the Everest. Any cable that is inferior to the Omega will ultimately reduce power system performance. However, cost can be a determinant factor. In my personal opinion, given the potential of the Everest, I would not go below the Sigma XC which is second from the top in our PC lineup.

You can certainly hear the potential of Everest with your Alpha NR which is a fine cable. So it is a good starting point and you will certainly benefit from the Everest’s capabilities. You simply won’t experience the maximum that it is capable of delivering unless you upgrade to a Sigma XC or Omega XC cable.

To use one of PumaCat’s analogies; you certainly would not buy a Porsche GT3 and put a restrictive intake on it.

Look I will always point people to a cheaper solution if I think it is in their best interest and their system components justify it. The Everest is not about being reasonable or about achieving the best performance at a reasonable cost. That is what the profile for the Denali Sv2 was about. Exceeding the performance of virtually every power conditioner on the market and pricing it at half the going rate. The Everest is not that - it is an all out, screaming assault on redefining the ultimate in power conditioner performance. And in my opinion, we have exceeded our target. But ultimately our customers will be the final judge of that.

Well, once I sell my MD house I will do my last big audio purchase. This will be the Everest, and three Omega power cords. Being retired, and 70, I better not want to buy more later. Of course, this means I will have to sell a Triton v3, Typhon QR, two Denali 2000, and assorted Shunyata power cords.

I would not be so hasty my friend. The Tv3 and TQR are quite formidable.
You have an incredible system. Enjoy it.
Let the first adopters and reviewers chime in before making such a radical change.
And then, of course, get a demonstration.

I sense a possible bargain, I'd be interested in your TQR and PC's.

If it's as good as the beta users say (and I have no reason to believe it's not), Shunyata is going to sell a LOT of these (as well as the complementary PCs). Price is right.
