Re: Wilson Yvette
If confirmed replacing Sophia - then 2 woofers (1 mid & 1 bass)
Hopefully a slightly bigger version of Sabrina
If have 3 woofers (1 mid & 2 bass), then what will happen to Sasha replacement
What will be the name of Sasha replacement nextRegards, EH.

Re: Wilson Yvette
I haven't heard the Yvette yet, but I have compared the WA Sophia 3 to the Magico S3.
Both speakers have been measured by HiFi News, which shows the -6db of the WA S3 to be 33hz and.2% THD(100hz), and the -6db of the Magico S3 to be 43hz and .2% THD(100hz).
That 10hz difference in the bass is easy to hear and IMO, the Magico S3 lacks the musical involvement I get with WA S3 on the live jazz recordings I listen to.
My guess is the Yvette will go as low as Sophia 3.

Re: Wilson Yvette
Wilson Audio does not publish crossover frequencies. Let's just say that working for Wilson Audio I know this to be fact.
A better question would be who in the world would believe that a 7' midrange driver would be crossed over at 12.5k? To quote an old and good friend at the highest of the high end "..and you believed them?"

No experience with Sophia 3. But heard Yvettes with Ayre AX5-20, dCS Debussey powered by Denali with very expensive looking Transparent cabling in dealer's acoustically treated room. Sounded very very good.
Then I went home and listened to my system with S3 and felt it gave up nothing if S3 --> Yvettes is what you are thinking, Kuoppis.

Re: Wilson Yvette
Just weighing my options, agreed at least an auditioning today. I heard the Sophia 3 while shopping for the S1 MkI.
Thought also about Raidhos, but have heard from many sources the bass is difficult to tame and the cabinet not necessarily on level with the huge price tag.

Re: Wilson Yvette
Wilson speaker have another sound vs Magico.
for me you dont can compare this 2 soeakers: it's a personal taste.
Sophia with "Focal tweeter" is yet another sound.
Tweeter from Yvette, Sasha2, Alexia,... have another impact in listingsession. I have Sasha2 and are very good. one of the best speakers present in my system but now a pair of Magico S line are well accepted, a great desire.
