Studer A726 Tuner. Did I buy something special?

So I finally bought a vintage analogue tuner.

A mint Studer A726 to compliment my A810 R2R. Yet to ship, but I have an issue I would like to resolve.

Instead of XLRs, it has cinch plugs option. So I have asked the old ex Studer guys in Switzerland if they can help and await their response regarding the possibility of sourcing the XLR faceplates for a retrofit.

Does anybody have any experience with the A726? I believe the Revox B261 derived many aspects of the Studer A726 including chassis.

How does this machine sound? I don't believe there are many around or left. Any insight would be helpful. I don't know much about this purchase except it's condition. Thanks.

These are actual pics showing condition.

    Another unit with XLR faceplate.

I'm into the vintage equipment like your Studer but I don't have any experience with your unit. If you checkout http://www.fmtunerinfo.com they will probably have some information on it.

The Studer technician has swapped out the Lemo connectors with XLRs per the original specification option. Very happy that the A726 is on its way to me!

I am also after a mint A730 pro CD player. I almost found one but a potential seller changed his mind about letting it go.
