Cryotherapy
Has anybody tried this yet? I did today, and loved it. You get into a chamber with an open top, and liquid nitrogen is used to bring the temperature down to minus 300 Fahrenheit for three minutes. It is freaking cold, but doable for three minutes. After you get out any sore joints, muscle aches, etc. are gone, and you feel great. The body goes into hypothermia shock, and burns 500-800 calories in those three minutes. After I got back to work I was starving. I already have paid for two more sessions over the next two weeks. I still feel great, and hungry, eight hours later. Did I mention it is freaking cold?

Re: Cryotherapy
How are the joints today? Any chance of it fixing tennis/golf elbow?
I just showed The Lady your post and her thoughts. Apparently I am getting this as a surprise Christmas present, so she revealed!
I am told there are only 2 salons in Melbourne that do it. I'm game!

Re: Cryotherapy
Shoulder is still fine, but lower back muscle is starting to make itself known again. However, this is the strange part. I was all wound up yesterday after the lunchtime treatment. I went to bed at 12:30 AM, woke up at 2:30 AM, and have been awake since then. Finally got up at 5:45 AM versus normal 7:30 AM, and am not tired. I better be tired tonight.

Re: Cryotherapy
This therapy started in Europe and is just coming to North America. As someone who used to work for a company that produced Nitrogen, I hope people who use it and pay for it, understand the safety risks. They are very real. One breath of pure nitrogen and you are dead.
Please ask lots of questions of the place you go about their fail safe mechanisms for venting, etc.

Re: Cryotherapy
Your head is not in the chamber, so you are breathing fresh air, which is mostly nitrogen. The operator is right there to shut the machine off should something happen. In my case she talked to me to distract me from the cold, but it was still freaking cold.

Re: Cryotherapy
If you don't mind, what is the cost per treatment?
Thanks!

Re: Cryotherapy
$65 is the base cost, but like everything else, there are deals. I got an introductory three for $99 package, and have used one. Then I will buy another package that lowers the per unit cost.
