You should have started a new thread with pictures. Since the S5 mid and tweeter is above the woofers, how can an equipment rack between the speakers block the woofer distance from the wall.

i should clarify. i have a wide rack that is low to the ground and happens to be about as tall off the ground as the two woofers are. the equipment is between the speakers so i'm sure i'm losing out on some soundstaging but the rack is not so tall as to be an issue with the mid and tweeter.
