After a glass of Laphroaig, this is an even finer malt:

I just finished off my 2 year old bottle of Reclamation so hoping Santa noticed.

The guy that owns Hewn Spirits has a first job of old House and Barn Reclamation and then they use the several hundred year old wood to make the barrels. They do this single malt in Hickory, Walnut, and Chestnut

This one would remind you of Butterscotch Popcorn from the smell and taste

    Dave,

Main location is Pipersville, but I always go to the Peddlers Village location which is closer to me.
Hewn Spirits - Hand Crafted in a Copper Pot Still

    Some better history
Hewn Spirits >> Bucks County Taste

I think it was about $55 for a 375ML bottle but well worth it. The rest of what they do is good also.

I'm at our place in Aruba until February. Hard to get good bourbon here. They the "regular" stuff.

Found that bottle of Japanese whiskey I posted a couple nights ago with a buddy of mine. Was 300 florin, so about $180.

    Plenty of scotch options here.

The Japanese are making amazing stuff. See if you can find Hibiki 17. Very hard to find though and very pricey.

Brought (snuck) this bottle down in my checked luggage. Haven't had it until tonight. But more of a bite, quasi Rye kind of bite. I'd give it a solid 6.5 out of 10. Can't say I'd buy it again.

50 years?!? I'm assuming I could buy a house for what that costs.

Several houses, 3 years ago when we were there they 'estimated' it's worth @ 3 million pounds. I wonder how much the 'Angels have taken' ?

Have to admit that I was a bit underwhelmed with this one.
Probably had very high expectations ....

Tried it both neat and with a splash of water. Any recommendations?

That's crazy. That's about 2500 a glass. I don't know at what level of wealth that makes sense. But I doubt I'll ever get there.

I try to stay in the 50-75 dollar range. Will splurge once in a while for a couple hundred dollar bottle. Plenty of very good bourbon & scotch out there for under $100.

Save it for guests. I was given a bottle that was overly smoky, which I didn't enjoy. I saved it for guests who did.

And a Gurakah stick. Well played sir. I brought some of these with to Aruba. Only one cigar shop here, and it's not great.
