Thank you for posting and linking these photos.

One small edit. The speakers in the United Home Audio room are the MBL 116's not the 111F's.

Especially considering (A) the room, (B) the speakers had only two weeks of playing on them before bringing them to Axpona and (C) the front end had a grand total 69 hours on it by the end of the show. Plus they biamped the speakers and were driving them with a lot of power.

I think that most people most surprised the most by the Class D amps (E, not NCore) and the lack of paper thin images, grain and just general all around washed out, boring quality. Sound was very transparent.

Re: Axpona Chicago April 25-27 2014 Daily Blog

Were they using the REF10 as the preamp?

I had that very combo at home (Aida's with DS450M's) and the DS450's really controlled the intrawoofers of the Aida's.

Sadly, the Aida's were just too big for my room. They need a big room to breath.

Lastly, was the Kronos Sparta playing or just on static display?

Ref. 5 and 2SE. And they were far from broken in.

Yes, the Kronos was in the GTT Audio room with the Haileys and Audio Net. They were using the Black Beauty arm and a Shelter cartridge.

"I am the danger"- Loved that show and the scary little chemistry teacher turned bad-ass. He actually is standing on a pile of blue meth. If I play the right music with enuf bass I can get his head to bounce. I have had to readjust his glasses several times.

Hi Paul! As I said (or didn't say maybe?) in my blog, they had the Kharma in way too small a room so couldn't get a handle on the sound.
