    cool turntable speed strobe device

Okay so gone are the days of built in strobes on turntables but there are times you want to be sure your platter speed is correct. well, its easy to print a strobe disk but the light to properly view can be hit or miss.

I just purchased one (back order) from a guy on another site. He setup a bulk buy...you can't go wrong for $14 shipped.

Pocket Turntable Strobe, 60.0Hz 0.005% accurate
If you want one, you can order it here
    https://www.tindie.com/products/bot_...ntable-strobe/

Looks like this..so cool. Just shine on the strobe disk and you'll easily see fast or slow...

MAIN RIG: Equipment: Marantz SR4023 as Pre / Velleman K4040 Tube Power Amp / Yamaha M65 Power Amp / Polk Monitor 70's with Polk Sub / ClearAudio Concept table with Musical Surroundings Phonomena II Phono Stage and ClearAudio Concept MC cart /Pioneer PL500 TT with AT440MLa

Yeah, well I would probably use mine...once a year...LOL...But for my Concept its a PAIN to adjust as the adjustment is under the bottom of the table. So its test, adjust, test adjust....LOL

actually i was going to start a thread awhile back on why tables dont have built in strobes anymore and how much i like having one again and a very easily adjustable one. and i took pics so i might as well post them for you, since they been sitting on my comp for 4 months.lol. now i can finally delete them. oh btw, im still gonna buy that pocket strobe. never know when it may come in handy.

Do a search for CyberTech Digital Photo Laser......there will be a bunch to choose from.

I own several strobes devises by Clearaudio, KAB and prefer the digital tach......I took an LP I paid a buck for and applied the reflector tape you get with the digital tach on the outer edge (first cut) of the LP then drop the arm on the second cut and bingo!! I like numbers instead of a wiggly hash mark

Jeff, that's just about the greatest idea I've heard in a while! Wow, actual numbers! Easy to verify the speed of my Pioneer TT, but I want to verify my Denon (even though I don't hear anything off). Hmm, I think I'll try your idea of the $1 record or in my case I have a dup of Joni Mitchell around here I can use. Better yet, I have a Yorkshire test record, I could.......uh, no wait a tick, I see those are now worth a pretty penny..ok, maybe I shouldn't use it then. On the other hand I don't see myself ever selling any of my records. I'm just not into that.
