Girard Perregaux Constant Escapement
New time piece from GP. First model - white gold only. More models/variations will come in due time on this "new technology".
Beautiful watch with a "beautiful" price tag too. Well, at this point, just admire the beauty and forget the price, after all, it does takes a deep pocket, a big wrist (this is 48mm size) a huge deep breathe before one will take the plunge.
So, what is "Constant Escapement" mean?
It simply mean "there is no loss of amplitude over time, meaning the watch will beat at a constant rate no matter how much power remains in the barrels".
These days I did learn how to look at watches, touch, feel and admire them, then walk away.
