I think this is a brilliant move on their part. August will be nice. Can’t wait to go!

Dear AXPONA Community,

AXPONA has been rescheduled from April 17-19 to August 7-9, 2020 out of concern for the health and safety of all participants due to the growing coronavirus situation. This decision was made following an outpouring of feedback from the AXPONA community over the last 72 hours.

The three most consistent themes we heard were, 1) fears of attending public events will increase in March and April, 2) AXPONA should still be held in 2020, and 3) reschedule later this year if possible. Although the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel is booked solid all year, they offered us a week in August that will accommodate all of AXPONA's space needs. So we secured it.

We rescheduled out of an abundance of caution during this unpredictable time to provide the best opportunity for a well-attended event and to ensure the best AXPONA experience for all show goers in 2020. We will contact all exhibitors and attendees directly later this week as we work through the details of the move.

Our sole priority today is to communicate this news immediately so everyone can adjust their plans accordingly. We thank you for your understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience.

We look forward to seeing you all at AXPONA in August!

Feels like a money grab from the organizers to me....don't want to miss out on that $$

So the hotel is booked solid all year but happens to have a week in August??...well of course they do. It's the worst time to be in the Mid-West.....hot, humid, storms.....just a shitty time to be there.

Anyone consider how many Asians live in Chicago? A lot. And people coming and going thru the airports..a lot.

I feel really bad for those that are forced to go to work the show. And those that go as attendees....stupid

Really bad call.....

Better than try to hold the show in April. With anything changing by the hour, I'm not certin we will have ANY more shows in 2020.

This is the responsible thing to do and if they held the show as planned participation levels would not allow for a successful event.

I think it's a good thing to do.

The one thing that will do detrimental damage to a show forever is that somebody spreads it there. Better to NOT be the one that does that.

I can only imagine the angst they had over this decision. They made a great call and I for one am delighted they didn’t cancel. Axpona is a great show. August is a great time too! No worries about a blizzard like we had last year!

The summer is dead anyway, this will add some real energy to the industry which is normally slogging through the summer.

More importantly, they kicked the can down the road and hopefully this buys them enough time for the fears over the Coronavirus to subside.

And they are still nearly two months away from RMAF. This is perfect timing.

Bravo team Axpona!! Two big thumbs up from me. [emoji106][emoji106]

Maybe the stock market will be better in August. Audio equipment and shows are largely discretionary items. OK, I know some of you "must have". But for many people feeling flush leads to spending.

Personally, I just gave up dreams of purchasing an expensive tube integrated. I do not feel flush today. I feel "flushed". :ko:

Mike, really??

That's the exact same date as Hong Kong High End AV Show 2020. Edit: August 7-9, 2020.

Meanwhile, The Montreal Audiofest remains on schedule for its March 27th to 29th run, 18 days from now.

I bet they will cancel in 2 weeks time. Which is the WORST possible decision.

What about the timing of that Florida show....

Anyone know the date of Capital Audio Fest?

Florida Show is over. We are looking at mid February for 2021.

Capital is what? November I think?

Since Munich is cancelled, I'm heading to Chicago in August for Axpona 2020. Look forward to it! (assuming this corona virus issue is behind us...)
