His son died in 2015 so it’s not so much dark as it is about grief.

I'm still adding CD's to my ACS10. So if you don't see me post for awhile I'm still listening, it's just that I get anxious to see how a CD will sound after ripping so end up cherry picking a bunch of tracks opposed to sitting through the entire album. It's hard to contain my enthusiasm for my Aurender. One of my best hi fi purchases.

got the 2004 hi-res (24/88.2) version of: tsuyoshi yamamoto | misty

as expected, this digital version is very, very good...

however, heard the 2017 impex records 2 x 45rpm pressing of this recording over the weekend. OMG!! makes the digital version sound like a cassette tape playing in a pickup truck on a gravel road, with the windows rolled down!

Great album, cool and mellow flow. Love his use of block chords

Via Tidal Masters on Heresy III's & stereo Polk PSW505 subs...

This album will put your system to the test! Very fast, tight articulate and detailed bass throughout as well as excellent vocals, zippy highs and great space and air. If your system is dialed in and up to the task, you'll be in for a treat! Probably my new "go to" album for testing and demos.

Re: What are you listening to tonight ?

Been a heck of a last two weeks. Been sick, still recovering, wife had surgery, still recovering, helped the kids move and helping them fix up the new house. Haven't listened to the stereo since the last time I posted. Anyway, able to listen to it now, so just put on Steve Earle & The Dukes, "Guy".

Usually not that much of an Electronica fan, but this album is nice.

The Bad Plus with new Piano Man Orrin Evans: Activate Infinity.

I like the up-tempo character of the album. A little bored with lots of new jazz albums without sufficient rhythmic drive.

I like Motorhead but their production/sound really needed some help, LOL Ever explore his earlier band, Hawkwind? I like some of their more spacey stuff.

Not like Motorhead, yet check out Ozric Tentacles if not familiar. I'd recommend Spirals In Hyperspace.

Yes, I have listened to a bunch of Hawkwind (they are still kicking believe it or not), but have not listened to Ozric Tentacles. Thank you for the recommendation as I will certainly check them out.
