Qobuz on the Front Page of the March 2020 of TAS

    Received an email from Qobuz.

We're big fans of long-running audiophile magazine The Absolute Sound here at Qobuz, so we are absolutely delighted to be mentioned on the front page of their (spoiler alert!) March 2020 print magazine.
    i really enjoy Qobuz!

I have both Tidal and Qobuz. I've been with Tidal for probably over 3 or 4 years, and with Qobuz for a little over a month. I really prefer Qobuz because they have a much better selection of jazz and classical. Whether one sounds better than the other, I really can't tell. Some claim Qobuz sounds better, but honestly, I can't hear it, at least at the standard 44.1 kHz / 16 bit resolution.

I may consider cancelling Tidal however. We'll see.

Also a long time Tidal user, but tested Qobuz with the Linn as it was part of the deal. The streaming sounds good to me, not sure however whether it’s much different from Tidal.

Keep hearing good things about Qobuz though.

Re: Qobuz on the Front Page of the March 2020 of TAS

After being with Tidal for a while, I tried Qobuz when it first arrived in the USA. At that time, I noticed that roughly 30% of my Tidal selections were not available in Qobuz. Fast forward a year. After Qobuz lowered their rate below Tidal's I tried Qobuz once again. I discovered that Qobuz now had pretty much all of my Tidal selections. Moreover, Qobuz offered truly hi resolution tracks as opposed to MQA.
I dropped Tidal and kept Qobuz. No regrets here. I have also noticed that with Tidal there were more tracks that all of the sudden showe as bring "unavailable". With Qobuz that is a very rare occurrence.

I am not a fan of MQA or lossy formats. MQA would be great if bandwidth was still an issue but IMO it's now obsolete.

I prefer Qobuz as I can get hiRez without needing an MQA Dac.
