Sonos Port, legacy issues and a film about the Port

Sorry I’ve not been able to participate that much I’ve been working solid on my website.

but I did post an article about the legacy issues, the Sonos Port I reviewed which I found is an improvement on the connect and an article about the Port too.

Re: Sonos Port, legacy issues and a film about the Port

For the sake of completeness you may want to mention the Sonos legacy device trade in program, which had you recycle older hardware for a 30% discount on new devices. That was launched near the end of 2019. The response seemed to be universally negative due to the environmental impact of recycling electronics. That, and Sonos stuff can be easily had for a 20% to 25% discount off of msrp so really, not much reason to trade in perfectly functional gear.

While the updated communication from Sonos should have calmed the situation down, Sonos is up against hi-fi owner’s expectation that stereo gear lasts forever or at least until you get tired of it.
